LERNER & LOEWE’S MASTERPIECE BRIGADOON
OPENS April 27th AT EDSEL FORD HIGH SCHOOL
The musical theatre classic Brigadoon, with music by Frederick Loewe and book/lyrics by Alan Jay Lerner, will be presented by the Edsel Ford High School Performing Arts Department April 27-30, 2017. Curtain times Thursday through Saturday are at 7:00 pm and the Sunday Matinee begins at 3:00 pm.
With true love anything is possible, even miracles, in this journey to the mystical Scottish Highlands village of Brigadoon. A long-time favorite of audiences everywhere, the traditions of two worlds collide in the enchanting, romantic tale by the team that created Camelot and My Fair Lady, with iconic choreography and a soaring score featuring “Almost Like Being In Love,” “From This Day On” and “The Heather on the Hill.” The New York Times called Brigadoon “a miracle that is pure Broadway.” And The New York Daily News raved that the show is “a classic of musical theatre, an unquestionable Lerner and Loewe masterpiece … it still has the power to enchant us with its outpouring of glorious songs.”
Advance Sale Tickets for Brigadoon are $10 for Adults and $8 for students and Senior Citizens. Ticket sold At the Door are $12 for Adults and $10 for students and Senior Citizens , online at efhs-brigadoon.brownpapertickets.com, or in person at the Edsel Ford High School Box Office, 20601 Rotunda Dr., in Dearborn. Box Office Hours are 11:00 am – 12:15pm and 2:30-3:30pm M-F. Same day Tickets will be available at the Box office 30 minutes prior to curtain.
In the EFHS production of Brigadoon, Tommy Albright will be played by Seniors Jacob Gilman and Adam McCardell. The role of Fiona MacLaren will be played by Senior La’Daria Avery and Junior Nora Heaton, Senior Yazan Kochak will play Jeff Douglas, and Mr. Lundie is portrayed by Senior Austin Armstrong, . The role of Harry Beaton will be shared by Senior Tre’Von Mason and Sophomore Nathan Wall.
Sophomore sisters Catherine Dicks and Elizabeth Dicks play Jean MacLaren, and the role of Charlie Dalrymple will be performed by Junior Mohammad Saeed and Freshman Jameel Baksh. Freshman Grace Mercuri, will play the charismatic Meg Brockie. The Clan chiefs and ensemble are rounded out by students from grades 9-12 at EFHS.
The Adult Production Crew for Brigadoon includes Producer/Director Robert Doyle, Orchestral Director Sarah Oren, Chorus Master Marshall Dicks, accompanist Sarah Jakubiec, and Choreographer Simone Calvas.
Costume Designs are by Bobbie Justice, Lighting Design by Melissa Redmon and set design and construction is headed by Mike Hermen.
