UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN- ANN ARBOR SCHOLARSHIPS:
The University Of Michigan Club Of Greater Detroit is sponsoring unique scholarship awards to 12 outstanding freshmen applicants to the University Of Michigan- Ann Arbor. All twelve awards are for $3,000. There are “no strings’’, except that first year applicants must enroll at University Of Michigan- Ann Arbor and be quality citizen-students. Please visit www.umclubgreaterdetroit.org. The due date for scholarship applications is Friday, January 15, 2017.
NALS OF MICHIGAN SCHOLARSHIP:
The fund shall present a $1,000 non-renewable tuition/books- only scholarship for high schools seniors with a 3.0 g.p.a. or higher and are in need of financial assistance. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of scholastic achievements, future career goals, and leadership ability. All applications must be postmarked no later than January 15, 2017. Please stop by the counseling office for applications.
NHS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:
Applications for the program have now opened. All NHS senior members in good standing are eligible to apply. A total of $1 million will be awarded-the highest amount ever in a single year- disbursed among 400 NHS seniors. Please see Mrs. Welmers in the counseling office for more information on this great opportunity .
Circle Michigan Scholarship:
The foundation will award a $1,000.00 scholarship for a senior attending a Michigan higher education institution and who is enrolled in a Hospitality and Tourism program. Full or part-time students may apply. Students who are interested should visit www.enewsecirclemichigan.com for more information. The deadline is February 15, 2017.
Lake Michigan Credit Union Scholarship Competition:
High school seniors are encouraged to enter this competition for a chance to win one of ten (10) $2,000 scholarships. To enter, students must write an essay answering the following question: “You have the entire country’s attention for one hour. What would you say?” For more information on the contest, students are asked to visit www.Imcu.org/about/hutt/. Students need to submit their essay by January 31, 2017 for consideration.
LEBANESE-AMERICAN HERITAGE CLUB SCHOLARSHIP
This $1,000 scholarship opportunity is available for students of Arab-American descent who are high school seniors. Every year, the LAHC awards 60 to 70 scholarships for $1,000 each. The entire process to apply is ONLINE. Students should visit the website at www.lahc.org and submit all the required documents electronically. Deadline to apply is March 17, 2017.
NFL Alumni – Detroit Chapter Scholarship: Two $2,500 scholarships are awarded – one to a male student-athlete and one to a female student-athlete, who attends a high school in Wayne County. Seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher and have a minimum score of 19 ACT are eligible. Participants must have played on a varsity team for at least one year. Applications are due no later than 5:00 p.m. on February 5, 2017.
MICHIGAN FIRST CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIPS:
The Young and Free Michigan Scholarship Competition (funded by the Michigan First Foundation) offers even more scholarships for high school students. $10,000, $5,000 and $3,000 will be awarded in each category:
- High School senior video
- High School senior essay
Plus, up to 31 additional $1,000 scholarships could be awarded to qualifying high school seniors. Entry deadline is Monday, February 6, 2017 at 3:00 p.m.
COYNE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: To be eligible for these $6,000 scholarships, applicants must have completed at least 30 hours of community service, be a 2015 graduating high school senior, be a member of a family that has belonged to Credit Union One for a minimum of six months and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above. All documentation must be packaged and postmarked by April 1, 2017.
Student Scholarships.Org: There are numerous (3) scholarships that high school students from Dearborn area are eligible for. Since 2003, Student Scholarships.org has been focused on providing scholarship information to students from Michigan. The deadline for the scholarships ranges from June 2, 2017 to June 30, 2017. COMMUNITY CHOICE CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIPS:
Since 2008, Community choice Credit Union has made more than $500,000 available in scholarships for high school students in our communities. As an organization that values the future of our great state, they are offering $100,000 in scholarships again this year to high school seniors. Students are not required to be members of the Credit Union to apply. If students are interested, they can visit the website at www.CommunityChoiceFoundation.com. The deadline is February 1, 2017.
SOCIETY OF WOMEN ENGINEERS SCHOLARSHIPS
The Detroit Section annually recognized high school females who have shown exemplary abilities in areas such as leadership, academics and community activities. The section annually awards over $4,000 in scholarships to exceptional high school senior women who intend to pursue a college degree in engineering. The scholarship application must be filled out and postmarked or emailed by March 1, 2017.
