       Scholarships #9 – March 6, 2020

  1. College Board Opportunity Scholarships for Juniors and Seniors: The College Board is investing $5 million per year, with half of the scholarships designated for students whose families earn less than $60,000 per year.  The board has created a program that guides high school juniors and seniors through it and rewards their efforts.  Students will be eligible to earn scholarships by taking action during certain windows in their junior and senior years.  If students complete all six scholarship steps within the action windows, they can win a $40,000 scholarship.  Please stop by the counseling office for a packet. 
  2. Hype Athletics Scholarship: Hype Athletics will award two $1,500 scholarships to two high school seniors, one male and one female, for the purpose of tuition, books, and fees.  Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or above to be eligible.  Applications must be submitted online at www.hypeathletics.org by March 15, 2020.  Winners will be announced at the HYPE annual dinner on March 22, 2020. 

Dearborn Education Foundation Scholarships

The following are four scholarships through the foundation for only Edsel Ford High School seniors.  The students can apply at http://dearbornedfoundation.org/category/scholarships/.  The deadline for all scholarships is March 27, 2020. 

  1. Steller Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship was created in memory of Chad Steller.  Gary is honored to have served Dearborn Public Schools constructing and renovating educational facilities for nearly 30 years.  Through this scholarship fund of $2,000, Chad’s family hopes to assist a Dearborn student who has a passion for construction as a career. 
  2. Metzler Scholarship: The counseling department is looking for three seniors that have demonstrated exemplary community service.  The candidates will have to write an essay, not to exceed 500 words, that describes their efforts and their reasons for giving their time in the way that they do.  Scholastic achievement will also play an important role in determining the finalists.  Please see Mr. Baydoun in the counseling office if you are interested.  The deadline is March 27, 2020. 
  3. Domke Scholarship: This scholarship was established on behalf of the Domke family.  This $250 scholarship will be awarded to one boy and one girl senior who lettered in Cross Country their junior or senior year.  Students must have at least a 3.0 GPA and be accepted to a college or university.  Please stop by the counseling office for an application.  The application deadline is March 27, 2020. 
  4. Robert Cipriano Scholarship: This scholarship was established in honor of a dear friend of our school district – Mr. Robert Cipriano.  For Bob, athletics was always a vital component in a child’s educational experience and this fund was established to keep that memory alive in the minds of our students.  A $500 scholarship will be awarded to a boy or girl from Edsel Ford.  Student must have participated in at least one full season of Cross Country, Track, softball or baseball while at Edsel Ford.  Students must have minimum GPA of 2.8 or higher to be eligible.  Applications must be submitted no later than March 27, 2020. 
  5. Edsel Ford PTSA Scholarship: This $250 scholarship is for Edsel Ford seniors who have a 2.0 GPA or higher, are a member of the PTSA and are college bound in the state of Michigan.  Please stop by the counseling office for an application.  The deadline for this scholarship is April 3, 2020.

Scholarships #8 – February 25, 2020

  1. PARKSIDE CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIPS: Any high school senior with a grade point average of 3.0 and above and is a resident of Wayne County is eligible. Parkside will award three (3) $1,000 scholarships for the purpose of tuition, books and fees.  Please stop by the counseling office for an application.  All applications are due by April 30, 2020. 
  2. STUDENT – VIEW SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: The program is offering $10,000 worth of scholarships to high school seniors who plan to attend a four-year college, community/junior college, or career school.  It is quick and easy to apply.  There is no ACT score, grade point average, essay, or application fees.  Students are asked to simply log on to www.student-view.com and complete a 15-20 minute application survey about colleges in the area.  The scholarship deadline is April 22, 2020. 
  3. DAVENPORT UNIVERSITY SCHOLARSHIPS: The university is offering great scholarships that focus on academics, athletics, as well as need.  The scholarships are easy to attain and keep.  Scholarships range from $5,000 to $10,000 per year and can be earned with either a qualifying GPA or SAT score.  Please stop by the counseling office for more information. 
  4. AMERICAN PROSPECT HIGH SCHOOL ESSAY CONTEST: The contest is to engage all high school students on how to create a more inclusive economy.  The competition will give students in ninth thru twelfth on one of four renowned books exploring how the economy works in terms of poverty, race, markets, and democracy.  Prizes that total $30,000 with first place for juniors and seniors is $10,000, first place for sophomores and freshmen is $5,000; second place $2,500, third place is $1,000.  Forty honorable mentions will be awarded $100 each.  The deadline for submissions is March 31, 2020. 
  5. ISLAMIC CENTER OF AMERICA SCHOLARSHIPS: The scholarship fund awards $1,000 scholarships to college-bound high school seniors from Michigan based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need, community service, and an expressed interest in improving and enhancing Islam’s image of peace.  To be eligible, students need a 3.6 or higher GPA, demonstrate financial need and provide community service record.  The application deadline is April 18, 2020. 
  6. D.E.F.F UNITY SCHOLARSHIP: This $1,000 scholarship is a joint effort between Edsel Ford, Dearborn High, and Fordson High School, and supports student leaders who strive to ensure a unified, safe, supportive, peaceful, socially just, culturally sensitive school community.  Applications are due by March 19, 2019.  Please return completed applications with all required attachments to Mr. Baydoun in the counseling office.

Scholarships # 7 – January 30, 2020

  1. METRO BUREAU SCHOLARSHIPS: To be eligible, students must have a professional objective, or entering a human services profession, (e.g., teaching, medicine, social work, nursing, psychology), or a child-oriented profession.  Also, students must intend to enroll at one of the following colleges/universities:  Mott Community College, Oakland County Community College, Oakland University, St. Clair County Community College, Wayne County Community College or Wayne State University.  Applications must be postmarked February 28, 2020.                                                                                                                                                        
  2. LEBANESE-AMERICAN HERITAGE CLUB SCHOLARSHIP: This $1,000 to $4,000 scholarship opportunity is available to high school seniors.  Every year, the LAHC awards 60 to 70 scholarships to deserving students.  The entire process to apply is online.  Students should visit the website at www.lahc.org and submit all the required documents electronically.  The deadline for applications is April 22, 2020.  
  3. MICHIGAN RETAILERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP: The Association will be awarding seventeen (17) $1,500 scholarships to high school seniors.  The awards are not based on financial need.  To be eligible, the students or his/her parent must be employed at a business that is a member of the Michigan Retailers Association (MRA).  For more information about the scholarship, please stop by the counseling office.  Applications must be submitted by April 22, 2020. 
  4. UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN-DEARBORN ALUMNI LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP: The foundation will be providing unique $3,000 scholarship awards to outstanding freshmen applicants to the University of Michigan-Dearborn.  The foundation will be providing these scholarships to academically talented students with familial or significant relationships to UM-Dearborn graduates (i.e. child, sibling, grandchild, spouse, stepchild, niece, nephew or cousin).  All applications are due on April 15, 2020.
  5. ADVANTAGE ONE CREDIT UNION SCHOLARSHIP: Registration is now open for the annual Ronald Stamper Memorial Scholarship for high school seniors.  The monetary award of $2,500 is available to college-bound students of Edsel Ford High School.  Applications are available in the counseling office or online by visiting: www.myaocu.com/scholarships.  Applications must be postmarked no later than March 31, 2020.
  6. Hype Athletics Scholarship: Hype Athletics will award two $1,500 scholarships to two high school seniors, one male and one female, for the purpose of tuition, books, and fees.  Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or above to be eligible.  Applications must be submitted online at www.hypeathletics.org by March 15, 2018.  Winners will be announced at the HYPE annual dinner on March 22, 2020. 
  7. Society of Women Engineers Scholarships: The Detroit Section annually recognizes high school females who have shown exemplary abilities in areas such as leadership, academics and community activities.  The section annually awards over $4,000 in scholarships to exceptional high school senior women who intend to pursue a college degree in engineering.  The scholarship application must be filled out and postmarked or emailed by March 1, 2020.

Dearborn Education Foundation Scholarships

The following are five scholarships through the foundation for only Edsel Ford High School seniors.  The students can apply at http://dearbornedfoundation.org/catergory/scholarships/.  The deadline for all scholarships is March 27, 2020. 

  1. Khodor Farhat Scholarship: The scholarship is designated for disabled students in the district.  This scholarship serves as a funding source for anything that will facilitate their journey like laptops, screen readers, tablets, etc.  The deadline to apply is March 27, 2020. 
  2. FRACASSA SCHOLARSHIP: This $500 scholarship was established on behalf of Mr. & Mrs. Arnaldo Fracassa.  They are proud parents to three grown children, all of whom attended Dearborn Public Schools.  One student will receive this scholarship.  The deadline is March 27, 2020.
  3. SCHOLARSHIPS #5 – December 3, 2019

  1. Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan Scholarships: The foundation is pleased to announce the availability of several college scholarships.  To apply, go to: CFSEM.ORG/SCHOLARSHIPS.  Priority is given to applications that are submitted by March 15, 2020.
  2. StudentScholarships.Org: There are numerous (15) scholarships that high school students from Dearborn area are eligible for.  Since 2003, Student Scholarships.org has been focused on providing scholarship information to students from Michigan.  The deadline for the scholarships runs from December 9, 2019 to May 31, 2020.  Please stop by the counseling office for more information. 
  3. National Association of Black Suppliers Scholarship Fund: The organization seeks to provide scholarships to graduating African-American seniors in high school who have outstanding academic and community leadership skills.  Candidates must plan to be enrolled in college to pursue a full-time curriculum in engineering, technology, business or a related curriculum.  The scholarship is a stipend of up to $5,000 per year for up to five years.  All applications must be postmarked no later than Saturday, March 14, 2020. 
  4. Jackie Robinson Foundation Scholarships: The foundation offers promising minority students not only a generous four-year grant to assist with the costs of attending college, but also a full support network of fellow scholars, alumni, and professional mentors to help them excel in school and beyond.  To learn more, students are encouraged to visit www.jackierobinson.org/apply/.  The deadline for applications is February 1, 2020. 
  5. Collegeboard Scholarships: High school seniors are highly encouraged to visit www.collegeboard.com to find scholarships, financial aid, and internships for more than 2,200 programs, totaling nearly $6 billion!  Once you get onto the site, click “Find Scholarships” and start searching. 
  6. Z-Hope Scholarship: This scholarship opportunity is available for high school seniors who possess a minimum of a 2.75 GPA and have demonstrated superior leadership capabilities.  The deadline to have all materials submitted is Friday, January 31, 2020. 

SCHOLARSHIP #4 – November 11, 2019

  1. University of Michigan-Ann Arbor Scholarships: The University of Michigan Club of Greater Detroit is sponsoring unique scholarship awards to 12 outstanding freshmen applicants to the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. All twelve awards are for $3,000.  There are no “strings,” except that first year applicants must enroll at University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and be quality citizen students.  Please visit www.umclubgreaterdetroit.org.  The due date for scholarship applicants is Friday, January 17, 2020. 
  2. NFL Alumni – Detroit Chapter Scholarship: Two $2,500 scholarships are awarded – one to a male student athlete and one to a female student athlete, who attends high school in Wayne County.  Seniors with a 3.0 GPA or higher and have a minimum score of 19 on the ACT are eligible.  Participants must have played on a varsity team for at least one year.  Applications are due no later than 5:00 p.m. on February 1st, 2020.  
  3. 3. Davis Scholarship: Students are encouraged to visit the website at http://www.studentawardsearch.com/scholarship.htm to read about us and to apply for our scholarship. While on the website, students are encouraged to browse through the rest of the site to learn more about applying for scholarships.  This website was developed solely for the purpose of helping students locate and apply for scholarships.  The deadline for applications is May 22, 2020. 
  4. Lawrence Technological University Scholarships: There are numerous scholarships available for students who plan on enrolling at Lawrence Tech University.  The six freshmen scholarships range from full tuition for four years to $6,000 annually.  Seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher are encouraged to take advantage of leading-edge programs in engineering architecture, design, science and applied technology.  If interested, please go to www.ltu.edu/Michigan or scholarship@ltu.edu.
  5. Essayontime Scholarship Contest: Enter this easy and interesting scholarship contest and win a $1,000 reward to make your dreams come true.  Any high school student 17 years of age or older can participate in the contest.  The deadline for applications is December 1, 2019.  Please stop by the counseling office for more information.
  6. The “No Sweat” Scholarship: Enter to win the Cirkled In $2,500 scholarship.  No income or GPA requirements and no long essay.  Cirkled In is the award-winning secure, FREE platform for students to create an electric portfolio showcasing their holistic skills and achievements.  Students need to apply by December 31st.  
  7. American Legion 2019 Scholarships: There are numerous scholarships available for high school seniors from the American Legion.  The 2019 scholarships are now available for download at www.michiganlegion.org.  They are right on the home page of the website.  More information about each scholarship can be viewed at michiganlegion.org/scholarships.

SCHOLARSHIP #3 – October 18, 2019

  1. StudentScholarships.Org: There are numerous (15) scholarships that high school students from Dearborn area are eligible for.  Since 2003, Student Scholarships.org has been focused on providing scholarship information to students from Michigan.  The deadline for the scholarships runs through December 31, 2019.   
  2. GE-REAGAN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: This scholarship program annually award roughly 20 college bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with $10,000 renewable scholarships-up to $40,000 total per recipient.  The scholarship honors the legacy and character of our nation’s President through college scholarships for exemplary young leaders.  For more information, eligibility requirements, and an online application, please visit the website www.reaganfoundation.org/scholarships.  The deadline is January 3, 2020. 
  3. AAA Safety Patrol Scholarship Program: Scholarships of $2,500 will again be awarded to four graduating seniors. Students must show documented proof of AAA Michigan Safety Patrol participation, good academic standing and a strong record of involvement in the community and/or extracurricular activities.  It will also be important for students to note what safety patrol experience taught them or meant to them.  All applications must be turned into Mr. Baydoun in the counseling office.  The deadline for submission is April 17, 2020. 
  4. Arab-American Women’s Business Council Scholarship:  To be eligible, applicants must be of Arab descent and will be attending a Michigan college or university during the 2020-2021 academic year.  The application must be received no later than October 21, 2019 by 5:00 p.m.  Please stop by the counseling office for an application.
  5. Lawrence Technological University Scholarships: There are numerous scholarships available for students who plan on enrolling at Lawrence Tech University. The six freshmen scholarships range from full tuition for four years to $6,000 annually.  Seniors with a GPA of 3.0 or higher are encouraged to take advantage of leading-edge programs in engineering architecture, design, science and applied technology.  If interested, please go to www.ltu.edu/Michigan or scholarship@ltu.edu.
  6. Prudential Spirit of Community Award: All students in grades nine through twelve who have taken part in volunteer service activities over the past year are asked to complete an online application at http://spirit.prudentential.com or www.nassp.org/spirit.  Applications must be completed and submitted to Mr. Baydoun in the counseling office by November 5, 2020.  Students who apply could win $1,000 and a trip to Washington D.C. next May! 

Scholarships #2 – October 3, 2019

  1. Dearborn Rotary Club – Past Presidential Scholarship: This scholarship is offered to, at least one graduating senior from each of the three public Dearborn Public Schools.  Seniors most clearly demonstrate their leadership experiences through this application, illustrate their qualifications regarding academic achievement, their demonstration of leadership skills and their commitment to community service.  The scholarship is in the amount of $3,000.00.  Please see Mr. Baydoun in the counseling office if you are interested.  The deadline for all applications is January 20, 2020. 
  2. Dearborn Rotary Club Hugh Archer Scholarship: This generous $7,000 scholarship from the Dearborn Rotary Club will be presented to two outstanding high school seniors attending a public or private high school in the Dearborn School District.  The student, through academic achievement, demonstration of leadership, community service, and ethical standards exemplified the Rotary 4-Way Test, will be recognized with the scholarship for their freshman year of college.  To apply, students can request an application via the Dearborn Rotary website or you can see Mr. Baydoun in the counseling office.  Applications must be postmarked on or before January 20, 2020. 
  3. Infinite Scholars Free Scholarship Fair: In 2018, over 35 colleges and universities were in attendance and over 2 million dollars of scholarship dollars and acceptance letters were received on the spot.  Come out and receive scholarship dollars and acceptance letters for your high school accomplishments.  Students in grades 9 through 12 can register for this event online at www.Infinitescholar.org.  The event will take place on October 10, 2019 from 4-8 p.m. at the Eastern Market – SHED 3.
  4. Grand Valley State University Scholarships: There are numerous scholarships available to high school seniors ranging from full-ride four year scholarships (Presidential Scholarships) to $2,000 scholarships.  Students are encouraged to complete their application by December 31, 2019 in order to be eligible for the scholarships.
  5. Comcast Leaders and Achievers Scholarship Program: The Comcast NBC Universal Foundation will be awarding over 800 $2,500 scholarship awards to high school seniors who have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and have demonstrated commitment to community service, outstanding qualities in character, integrity and leadership.  Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability or national origin.  The application window is open from October 1, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. EST. 
  6. Imagine America Scholarship: This is an award winning scholarship program offered by the Imagine America Foundation.  The scholarship is for high school seniors planning to attend a career school participating in the Imagine America High School Scholarship Program.  (Participating career schools are listed at www.imagine-america.org/ourschools.)  To qualify, applicants must have a GPA of 2.5 or above and enroll in a participating career college.  Applicants may also be requested to demonstrate commitment to community service and/or financial need.  Students can apply online at www.imagine-america.org/applyforscholarships.  The deadline is November 5, 2019.

Scholarships #1 – September 12, 2019

  1. SCHOLARSHIP SEARCH SOLUTION: There is a free scholarship search solution for high school students by going to www.fastweb.com.  This website has a massive scholarship database with 1.5 million scholarships worth $3.4 billion, has an incredible matching technology and has real results and countless winners.  Stop by the counseling office for more information. 
  2. ELKS NATIONAL FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS: The foundation provides more than $2.44 million in college scholarships each year through its three scholarship programs, including the Most Valuable Student Scholarship, in which 500 four-year scholarships, ranging from $1,000 to $5,000, per year are rewarded to high school seniors based on financial need, leadership, and scholarship.  To find the Elks Lodge nearest you, students are encouraged to visit the website at www.elks.org.  Applications must be received by November 5, 2019. 
  3. StudentScholarships.org Scholarships: There are 15 scholarship programs available to Michigan high school students.  More than 1,000 individual scholarships will be distributed through these 15 programs.  The deadlines range from September 30, 2019 to November 15, 2019.  Please stop by the counseling office for a list of the scholarships. 
  4. COCA-COLA SCHOLARS FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP: The Coca-Cola Scholars Program Scholarship is an achievement based scholarship awarded to graduating high school seniors each year.  Students are recognized for their capacity to lead and serve, and their commitment to making significant impact on their schools and communities.  The foundation supports 1,400 students each year, with annual scholarships of $3.45 million.  Current high school seniors with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA may apply using the following link through October 31, 2019:  http://www.coca-colascholarshipsfoundation.org.
  5. CREDIT UNION ONE SCHOLARSHIP: To be eligible, high school seniors must be a member of a family that belongs to Credit Union One of Michigan, have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above and have completed 30 or more hours of documented, qualified community service during high school ending April 1, 2020.  The deadline for all applicants is April 1, 2020.  Please stop by the counseling office for an application. 
  6. TUITION INCENTIVE PROGRAM (TIP): The program encourages students to complete high school by providing college tuition assistance after graduation.  It helps students pursue a Certificate or Associate degree by providing tuition and mandatory fee assistance.  After earning a Certificate, Associate degree, or even 56 transferable credits, the student can then be eligible to receive up to $500 per semester while pursuing a Bachelor degree.  Please stop by the counseling office for more information.
  7. HORATIO ALGER ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP: The scholarship program provides financial assistance to high school seniors who have significant need and have exhibited integrity and perseverance in overcoming personal adversity.  These scholarships are given to deserving students each year and range in award value from $6,000 to $25,000.  Students may apply online through October 25th at www.scholarships.horatioalger.org.
