Greetings Dearborn families,
The district nursing team wanted to provide a brief update on Covid-19 in the community. Covid-19 transmission levels have increased in Wayne County. Our county went from a low-level rating to a high-level rating within a week. Here is a link from the CDC with the current data: Covid Data Tracker- CDC
At the high-level transmission rating, the CDC recommends the following:
- Wear a mask indoors when in public.
- Stay up to date with COVID-19 vaccines/boosters. The District is hosting a vaccine clinic being run by C-ASSIST at Edsel Ford on May 26 from 3 p.m -7 p.m.
- Stay home if you are sick; Get tested if you have symptoms
- Additional precautions may be needed for people who are at high risk for severe illness.
Our nursing team continues to monitor the Covid-19 cases that are positive while on school grounds. We continue to communicate with our local health department as they monitor how our community is doing during this uptick in cases. Though the county has not issued any mandates, we wanted to provide you the most current recommendations taking into consideration Wayne County transmission levels.
The district has at-home rapid antigen test kits available so you may screen for COVID 19 at home. Please contact your school office to inquire how to obtain one.
Together we will keep our community and our schools a safe place for all.
Stay well!
