Greeting Thunderbirds:
The first full week of school is now behind us! We are now transitioning from learning about expectations and building rapport to more content based learning.
Attendance:
First hour begins at 7:50AM. Students shouldn’t arrive late in the morning. We want all of our students to be mindful of the audit policy.
- Audit reduces a student’s credit for a class from 0.5 credits to 0.25 credits for having 10 or more absences in a class. Tardies impact your attendance as well. Every four tardies is an absence. If a student does not recover the credit by passing the class, including receiving a 78% or better on the cumulative final exam, the student must take the class in night school or summer school to regain their full credit. Summer school costs $350 a class and night school costs $175 a class.
Seniors:
All students wishing to walk/participate in the graduation ceremony must have 23 credits. A letter of this will be sent out to all students and parents.
Homecoming:
The Homecoming Parade and Game is this Friday. The parade will start at 5PM. All students participating will need to be in the staff parking lot at 4:30PM.
In honor of the Homecoming Game, this week is spirit week. Attached is the spirit week flyer.
We will have a shortened schedule on Friday so we can host our Homecoming Pep Rally out on the football field.
Parade Route:
Starts in the Staff Parking lot off Pelham. Right on Pelham, Right on Westminister Ct, Right on Audette down to Rotunda (Village Rd) turn Right, down to the Football Field.
The theme this year is “Under the Stars.”
We hope to have families lined up to see our homecoming court!
The Homecoming Game is at 7PM.
Homecoming Dance is on Saturday from 7-10PM. Doors close at 8PM. Students who want to leave before 9PM need to contact a parent/guardian.
Monthly Parent Meeting:
Our first monthly parent meeting will be held tomorrow at 6PM in the media center. We will be reviewing the beginning of the year information with parents. We want parent input. We want to know what discussion items/topics you would like to learn more about. Please input your topics here.
Parental Involvement Needed:
Consider joining our PTSA or Booster Clubs. Our first PTSA meeting will be on Wednesday, September 20th at 6:30PM in the cafe.
Get Involved with Booster:
Please consider getting involved with our booster. Students can also sign up and get community service hours. Please sign up to help when you can!
