Note from the Administration: 

Any student that is in the building past 3 o’clock without adult supervision, will be escorted out by Security. 

Also, any student that has Michael Berry/HFCC in the afternoon, must either leave the building or stay in the cafeteria. If you need to use the Library, you must have a pass from either the librarian or your ELA teacher. Otherwise, you must stay in the cafeteria. Walking the halls is not an option! 

Superintendent Student Advisory Committee

The Superintendent Student Advisory put together a presentation going over black history month in order to reach the student population regarding its importance. It is imperative for everyone to check it out!

Counseling

Seniors:

There will be a rep from Henry Ford College coming to Edsel on Thursday, February 17th.  This new date was rescheduled due to the snow days.  If you are attending HFC in the fall and are interested in getting information on applying to the college and scholarships, come to the counseling office to sign up.  Spots are limited!  

Night School

Night School/ASAP classes will begin tomorrow, February 15th. Registered students will get their schedules today.

Clubs

Coding Club

Coding Club’s starting date has been moved till the 23rd of February. Meetings will be held every Wednesday after school in room A204B. Hope to see you there!

The Interact Club is looking for Blessings in a Backpack volunteers for Wednesday, February 16 from 6 – 7:30 pm. ALL students are welcome and will earn 1-1/2 Community Service hours. Check the EF Club page for more information.

Co-Op

The WCCCD Health and Wellness Education Center downtown and currently looking to fill a few positions, one being Front Desk Attendant. Please see email or Mr Elliott, room F8, T-time is best. elliots@dearbornschools.org

Chicago Trip

If you are interested in coming to Chicago with the German class from April 22 through April 23, see Herr Sedore ASAP in Room E-10!  There are still spots available but this is the final week to sign up!

Book Club

Book Club: Mr. Remington’s classroom (C5), once a month, every third Wednesday from 3-4 p.m. Join us in reading lots of fun and new books. First meeting will be held on February 16th.

Model United Nations

Model United Nations is a simulation of the UN General Assembly and other multilateral bodies. Students step into the shoes of ambassadors from UN member states to debate current issues on the organization’s agenda.

All High School students in the Dearborn/ Dearborn Heights area are welcome to join!

Meetings will be held every other Thursday at 6:00 PM

Detroit Institute of Arts

The Detroit Institute of Arts is looking for Edsel Ford’s best artists. Please, submit your artwork to The Detroit Institute of Art’s Wayne County High School Art Exhibition. Yearbooks 

Yearbooks will be on sale at Lunch.  If you would like to buy a 2021 (last year’s yearbook) there still are some available for $75.  If you would like to pre-order a 2022 yearbook (this year’s yearbook), you can do so at lunch or after/before school in F-9 Mr. Pletzke’s classroom for $65.

If you buy a 2021 and 2022 at the same time during the month of February , the cost for both will be $125.  Payments can be CASH or CHECKS made out to Edsel Ford.

Athletics     

Congrats to the Girls Varsity basketball team for defeating Allen Park 42-40 in last Thursday’s game. Lizzie Kowalsky led the way with 13 points and Ava Steinhebel scored 11! 

Student ID’s are required for all home JV and Varsity Basketball games.

Due to Covid numbers increasing, the school district is considering a spectator limitation.  If you are in attendance, please make sure that you are fully masked and your behavior is appropriate.

Covid 19 Testing

Dearborn Schools will now be offering Covid Testing on Mondays and Wednesday at Dearborn High and Edsel Ford from 3-6 pm and on Tuesdays and Thursdays, they will be at Fordson from 3-6 pm and Salina from 3:30-4:30 pm. 

EFHS Free Tutoring 

Students, Edsel is now offering Free Tutoring! Work in small groups to receive tutoring from our own EFHS highly qualified teachers and/or NHS members. 

When: Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays – 3:00 – 4:15 p.m.
