Career Day 

Edsel Ford is hosting Career Day for our 9th grade students. We will have several community members from various professions presenting. If you see a guest speaker, make sure to welcome them to our school. As always, make sure to represent your school pride! 

Chromebooks

Students, chromebooks are now available. If you still do not have one, please come to the Student Office. If you need to exchange your computer, or have one checked out already from any other school including this one, you must bring it back in order to replace it. 

Lost and Found 

Students, items that remain in the lost and found in the cafe, will be donated to a charitable organization by the end of the day Friday, 2/11.

If you lost something, please make sure to check if one of those items is yours.

Counseling

Night School

Due to some unforeseen circumstances and the fact that we have low enrollment in some classes, we have decided to start night school/ASAP classes next week, February 15th. Registered students will get their schedule on Monday, February 14th.

Clubs

Drama Club

Edsel Ford Theater is holding auditions for our musical production of Disney’s “Descendants”.  Due to the snow days, live Auditions have been extended. Auditions will be available on Tuesday and Thursday this week. Sign up on the Board outside the Choir Room.

Please prepare a short monolog and a minute of any song. There are a LARGE number of roles and chorus, so we need YOU.  Come have some fun! The show will be performed on April 28, 29, 30 2022

Student Leadership Training

We are excited about a new opportunity coming to Edsel Ford.  Any students interested in leadership training, please come to  room E9 during T time on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday of this week to find out more information.

During WIDA testing, the library will still be open for book checkout, but you will need a pass from a teacher, and you must return to class after selecting a book. We are also still available for book returns, renewals, and hold pickups before school or between classes.  Email Mrs. Alward if you have any questions.

Co-Op

The WCCCD Health and Wellness Education Center downtown and currently looking to fill a few positions, one being Front Desk Attendant. Please see email or Mr Elliott, room F8, T-time is best. elliots@dearbornschools.org

Chicago Trip

If you are interested in coming to Chicago with the German class from April 22 through April 23, see Herr Sedore ASAP in Room E-10!  There are still spots available but this is the final week to sign up!

Book Club

Book Club: Mr. Remington’s classroom (C5), once a month, every third Wednesday from 3-4 p.m. Join us in reading lots of fun and new books. First meeting will be held on February 16th.

Coding Club

Coding club’s first meeting of the second semester will be held on Thursday, February 17th right after school. We will be meeting in room A204B. Hope to see you there!

Model United Nations

Model United Nations is a simulation of the UN General Assembly and other multilateral bodies. Students step into the shoes of ambassadors from UN member states to debate current issues on the organization’s agenda.

All High School students in the Dearborn/ Dearborn Heights area are welcome to join!

Meetings will be held every other Thursday at 6:00 PM

Detroit Institute of Arts

The Detroit Institute of Arts is looking for Edsel Ford’s best artists. Please, submit your artwork to The Detroit Institute of Art’s Wayne County High School Art Exhibition. Scholarship Opportunities

The University of Michigan Club of Greater Detroit is sponsoring twelve unique scholarship opportunities for incoming Freshman students attending  UM Ann Arbor in the Fall of 2022.

Yearbooks 

Yearbooks will be on sale at Lunch.  If you would like to buy a 2021 (last year’s yearbook) there still are some available for $75.  If you would like to pre-order a 2022 yearbook (this year’s yearbook), you can do so at lunch or after/before school in F-9 Mr. Pletzke’s classroom for $65.

If you buy a 2021 and 2022 at the same time during the month of January , the cost for both will be $125.  Payments can be CASH or CHECKS made out to Edsel Ford.

Athletics     

Student ID’s are required for all home JV and Varsity Basketball games.

Due to Covid numbers increasing, the school district is considering a spectator limitation.  If you are in attendance, please make sure that you are fully masked and your behavior is appropriate.

Informational

Covid 19 Testing

Dearborn Schools will no longer be providing building covid clinics. An outside organization will be conducting testing from 3-6PM Monday-Thursday for both rapid and PCR. 

EFHS Free Tutoring 

Students, Edsel is now offering Free Tutoring! Work in small groups to receive tutoring from our own EFHS highly qualified teachers and/or NHS members. 

When: Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays – 3:00 – 4:15 p.m.
