Starting today, we will no longer be providing building covid clinics. An outside organization will be conducting testing from 3-6PM Monday-Thursday for both rapid and PCR.

Clubs

The Charity Drive has been extended and will be accepting donations by the bus doors. Socks, blankets, toiletries, diapers, baby formula, and cash are heavily appreciated. The donations will be going out to the First Step domestic abuse shelter and the Veteran’s hospital.

The Interact Club is looking for Blessing in a Backpack volunteers for TODAY, January 19, from 6 – 7:30 pm. ALL students are welcome and will earn 1-1/2 Community Service hours. Check the EF Club page for more information.

The Class of 2024 is hosting two fundraisers over the next week.  Iceberg is on Wednesday 1/20 and Thursday 1/21 from 10-3.  See Ms. Gallagher in B-7 for flyers.  You must show the flyer to get the donation.  Then on Monday 1/24 On the Border is hosting from 11 am – 10 pm for dine in or take out.  Mention the Class of 2024 to get the donation.  

CO-OP

Area businesses have many open part time positions and are short staff. The link contains CO-OP approved businesses. See Co-OP teacher, Mr Elliott, F8, before school, T-time or B lunch with any questions.

Coding Club

Wave 2 of Coding Club will start on February 3rd, sign up sheets will be available in the cafeteria during both A and B lunch.” 

Seniors:  The last chance to submit a Senior headshot or Opt out waiver is January 21st.  If you need a waiver, they are on the school website under the yearbook tab.  If you need to confirm your picture is turned in, please check the list on the bulletin board across from Mr. Pletzke’s class in F hall.  After January 21 we cannot make any changes to this section in the yearbook.”

Model United Nations

Model United Nations is a simulation of the UN General Assembly and other multilateral bodies. Students step into the shoes of ambassadors from UN member states to debate current issues on the organization’s agenda.

All High School students in the Dearborn/ Dearborn Heights area are welcome to join!

Meetings will be held every other Thursday at 6:00 PM

Detroit Institute of Arts

The Detroit Institute of Arts is looking for Edsel Ford’s best artists. Please, submit your artwork to The Detroit Institute of Art’s Wayne County High School Art Exhibition. Scholarship Opportunities

The University of Michigan Club of Greater Detroit is sponsoring twelve unique scholarship opportunities for incoming Freshman students attending  UM Ann Arbor in the Fall of 2022.

Yearbooks 

Yearbooks will be on sale at Lunch.  If you would like to buy a 2021 (last year’s yearbook) there still are some available for $75.  If you would like to pre-order a 2022 yearbook (this year’s yearbook), you can do so at lunch or after/before school in F-9 Mr. Pletzke’s classroom for $65.

If you buy a 2021 and 2022 at the same time during the month of January , the cost for both will be $125.  Payments can be CASH or CHECKS made out to Edsel Ford.

Athletics     

Student ID’s are required for all home JV and Varsity Basketball games.

Due to Covid numbers increasing, the school district is considering a spectator limitation.  If you are in attendance, please make sure that you are fully masked and your behavior is appropriate.

EFHS Free Tutoring 

Students, Edsel is now offering Free Tutoring! Work in small groups to receive tutoring from our own EFHS highly qualified teachers and/or NHS members. 

When: Tuesdays, Wednesdays & Thursdays – 3:00 – 4:15 p.m.
