AP Exam Tips

Dear Parent,

We couldn’t be more proud of the hundreds of thousands of students who showed up for the opportunity to claim the college credit they worked for all year, despite widespread school closures.

To ensure all students have a positive test day experience, we have compiled a list of troubleshooting tips to review that will help your student on exam day. These include:•Locating their e-ticket, which is emailed two days before each exam•Checking their browser and disabling plug-ins•Understanding photo submission guidelines; HEIC file formats found on newer iPhones must be converted to JPEGs•Keeping an eye on the time and beginning their submission at the 5-minute markLearn MoreWe’ve also made some changes to our processes to help your student test successfully.Submitting Exam ResponsesBeginning Monday, May 18, and continuing through the makeup window, if your student is unable to upload their response due to a technical disruption, they’ll be able to email it to us immediately following the conclusion of their browser-based exam. If this happens during their exam, they will follow instructions on how to email their response on the page that says, “We Did Not Receive Your Response.” The email address that appears on this page will be unique to each student.Reminders for AP® World Language and Culture Exams Test TakersIf your student is taking AP Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, or Spanish Language and Culture exams, they will need to download the AP World Languages Exam App to the smartphone or tablet they plan to use for their world language exam. The app is now available in the Apple® App Store and Google Play™ Store. Make sure they watch the exam walk-through video, and understand details about their exam, including device and setting requirements.

If your student experiences technical difficulties, the app will provide a link to the form to request a makeup exam. Email submissions will not be available for the World Language exams.

Be sure to check our website and social media channels for the latest updates.

Sincerely,

Advanced Placement Program
