Edsel Ford High School

February 24, 2020

All boys interested in baseball this spring should attend the after school meeting on 2/26/2020 to meet the coach.  The meeting will be at 2:30 in the cafeteria.

Mark your calendar! The next PTSA meeting is Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.

Enter the Edsel Ford bookmark contest! Create a bookmark that highlights reading and books. Entry forms are in the Media Center and are due February 28th. The winning bookmarks will be given out at local libraries in March and winning students will get a gift certificate for Green Brain Comics.

Neon Night will be Friday, March 6.  Pick up the brand new Neon Night 2020 shirts during both lunches or come to Mr. Biggar’s class in B-13.  Shirts are $10. There is a limited supply and they are going fast so hurry!

Students: Guest pass applications for the Neon Night Dance are available on the school blog. The last day to turn them in is March 2nd – No Exceptions.

Attention Book Club!  Our next read is a continuation of Eragon by Christopher Paloini .  Please meet for treats and discussion Friday, March 6th in room E2.  See you there!

There will be a meeting in the cafeteria immediately after school on Tuesday February 25 for all male and female track athletes. This is a reminder if you plan on running track, you must have an MHSAA physical on file for MR. Picano. If you participated in another sport in the fall and winter, your past physicals will be valid. Thank you, Coach Tyler.

The Dearborn Public Schools with the help of Gleaners organize monthly mobile food pantries at a number of our schools. These pantries give our staff and students a way to give back to the rest of the community, while helping the battle against hunger. The Edsel Ford Interact Club is looking for volunteers to pack food baskets at Snow Elementary School on five different dates. The students will unload, then box the food and then deliver the boxes to people’s carsAll dates are Tuesday’s from 12:20 – 2:30 and volunteers will be marked school related. Students who don’t have a 5th and 6th hour, think about this unique 2 hour opportunity to help our community!  Everyone is welcome to volunteer. See or email Mrs. Mahar in the Media Center or Ms. Salsberry in the room across from the gym to sign up or for more information. Also, check the bulletin boards in the media center hallway for more volunteer opportunities.

Students: Tuesday, February 25th is the last day to enroll in night school. Please see your counselor or Mr. Naimi if you need help with enrollment.

SAT Prep: If you are interested in taking a free practice SAT test using Khan, we will be offering one on Saturday, February 29th. You need to report to the media center at 8:30am. You should be done by 12 noon.

Reminder for ALL Students:

Part of our school wide PBIS behavior philosophy is that school events are designed for students that are in good standing both academically and behaviourally. These events include but are not limited to all dances including PROM, field trips, athletic events, celebration of achievements,  etc. Any student that has been Out of School Suspended is not allowed to attend these events. Additionally, if a student is OSS they are not allowed on school grounds or at any before or after school sponsored events while on suspension; this includes away sporting events.
