Girl and boy Track athletes: there will be a brief meeting after school next Wednesday in the cafeteria to collect and pass on information. This is also a great opportunity for Fall athletes to get in and stay in shape and increase your speed, which is vital for every sport.

There will be rehearsal for all who are performing for the Benefit Concert after school in the Auditorium today Wednesday 8 February 2017.  If you auditioned, check the Board outside the Choir Room for the list of people performing.  If you didn’t get a chance to audition and are still interested in performing or helping out, please come to this rehearsal. See Jamilla Berman, Alyssa Calderon or Mr. Doyle for more information.

Seniors, those of you who do not have your senior portraits in,  please get them in as soon as possible or you will not be featured in the yearbook. Need somewhere to go?  Contact Photobob at photo_bob@sbcglobal.net . For baby ads they will be due February 11th if it is not in already. For more information go to the bulletin board outside Mr. Pletzkes room at the end of F hall.

Boys locker room- has PE clothes from last semester down in the boys locker-room. He will keep them until Friday and then they will be tossed. 

Instrumental Music students are having a pop can and bottle drive this Saturday, February 11 from 10:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. Please leave bags on your front porch if you are able to support our program.

The Social Justice Club will be holding auditions for poetry slam February 6th-10th in the old school store (across from the gym).  Please come down with your rap, poem, speech or song.  For more information see Gadi Bzeih, Dean Mattern or Khalid Abdulsharfi or Ms. D for further questions.

The Social justice club will be honoring Black History month by having an art contest.  Create a piece of art that symbolizes the richness of our black history.  This can be a poster, poetry media clip, rap or any other artistic expression.  Three prizes will be awarded.  First place will receive a $50 gift card, 2nd place $30, and third $20.  Entry deadline is February 15th.

The Edsel Ford Link Crew will be starting their “Edsel Ford Drives Safe”  campaign.  There will be 2 contests as part of the campaign:

Video contest-  the video needs to be about the dangers of distracted driving, 2-3 minutes long, have at least 3 statistics about the dangers of driving distracted.  The video is due to Mrs Haddad by Friday, March 3rd.  Please submit videos to haddadt@dearbornschools.org  The winner will recieve $150.

T-shirt contest-  The shirt must say “Edsel Ford Drives Safe”, should have a graphic image, a statistic about distracted driving and/or a quote.  The winner of this contest will receive $75.  Please submit all entries to Mrs Haddad at haddadt@dearbornschools.org

 Hey Thunderbirds!  If you missed out on buying a 2016 yearbook from last year and still want to buy one, we have a few left for sale.  The price will be $40.  These will be available starting Monday at lunch until they are gone. Also, if you have yet to order a 2017 Yearbook the time is now and the price is $75.
