If you are interested in planting trees with the Green Club or need community service hours, please join us on Saturday, May 10th and/or Saturday, May 31st to plant trees with “Greening of Detroit”  Plantings typically last from 9am until 1pmand are lots of fun!  Please see Mrs. Haddad if you are interested.

Congrats to the Edsel Ford Link Crew for winning 3rd place in the Ford sponsored Drive Safer campaign.  There were MANY schools in this competition and Edsel Ford was amongst the top! 15 students involved in the campaign will get to go spend the day at the Ford test track driving new cars while learning about how to be safer on the road.  Congrats to all involved!

The Class of 2015 will be selling Easter-grams during both lunch periods for only $1.  Purchase your Easter-gram for that special someone and it will be delivered to them on Thursday.

Cedar Point tickets are available in f-9 for Saturday, May 24th. Permission slips are due by May 9th, but don’t delay – seats sell out fast!

ATTENTION ALL MICHIGAN STATE UNIVERSITY APPLICANTS! TODAY, Thursday, April 17th, the representative will be visiting specifically the students that have already applied to MSU.  Please plan on attending at 2:20 p.m. in the Auditorium.  A reminder will go out as well as a “blue slip” on the day of.  QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED ABOUT THE FOLLOWING: …………… Fall Students are encouraged to bring their Advanced Enrollment Deposit of $250 to secure your place for the fall semester. Further questions?   Please see Ms. Tynan in the counseling office. 

In honor of autism awareness month, staff and students will be wearing blue ribbons TODAY, Thursday. It is our job to advocate, understand, and take the time to speak out while making a difference. Autism now affects 1 in 68 children and 1 in 42 boys Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S. Autism costs a family $60,000 a year on average. Boys are nearly five times more likely than girls to have autism.  There is no medical detection or cure for autism

Class of 2014 seniors: Please send in a baby or toddler picture of yourself. Please PRINT your name on the back of the picture. The picture should be no larger than 4” x 6”.Pictures should be given to Mrs. Keveney in the office. These pictures will be in the showcase at Edsel in May. They will also be displayed at the senior party where the kids can win prizes for guessing the most correct. Deadline for the pictures is Friday, May 2, 2014

Seniors! Guest passes for senior prom are available in the student office and MUST be returned, completed to the student office NO LATER than Friday, May 2, 2014.  The cost of the guest pass is $5.00

Spread the word to end the word!  Words describing people should be thought out carefully!   The “R” Word is very derogatory and should not be used to describe people with intellectual disabilities – You can help stop the word from being used!  Please go down and sign the pledge on the bulletin board around the corner from F7- Pledge you’ll not use the “R” Word – Help others feel good about themselves!  They deserve it!  You can also go to www.r-word.org to learn more!

Applications for LINK crew for 2014-15 ARE AVAILABLE IN THE MAIN OFFICE.  You can also pick up the applications outside of Mrs. Haddad’s office, or the counselors office.  Applications are due by Thursday, April 17th to Mrs. Haddad.  Current LINK leaders need to reapply.  Thank you!

Freshmen interested in running for class offices of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and two class Reps can pick up applications Ms. Haddad or Mr. Beydoun in the freshmen hallway. You must have them returned by April 17 fully signed.

Saturday, May 3rd at 10am there will be a South Dearborn Clean-up Day to promote community pride. Students who volunteer will earn community service hours. To sign up for this event, please see Ms. Tynan in the counseling office or Amal Ali. The deadline to sign up is April 11th.
