On November 21 Edsel Ford will be sponsoring the Red Cross Blood Drive. This is a reminder that you need to eat a healthy breakfast the morning you donate, and you need to hydrate the day before.
Red Cross student representatives will be signing students up for the Red Cross Blood Drive this Friday. You can donate at age sixteen with parental permission.
The Salina Community Center will be closed on the following days…Thursday, November 14 Wednesday, November 20 & Thursday, November 21
There will be try-outs for the boys’ basketball team on Monday, November 18th. 9th graders will begin try-outs at 3:30 p.m. in the main gym, followed at 4:45 p.m. with the varsity and the J.V. at 7 p.m. Any player who wishes to try-out must have a sports physical on file or they will not be allowed to try-out. Please see coach Baydoun in the counseling office if you have any questions.
Performing Arts Dept. Seniors – Meet in the auditorium on Monday, November 18 at 3:30 to take a group senior picture for the yearbook. Please show your Performing Arts pride by dressing your best.

Islamic Club will be holding a Bake Sale after school @ 3:20 on FRIDAY, November 15, 2013. Money raised will go for Kids Against Hunger.
Come see the Junior and the Senior Girls play each other in the Annual Powderpuff Football Game on November 15th at 7 o’clock. Admission is $5 and we will not accept sport passes. Come support our girls and have fun!

WE HAVE AN AWESOME COLLEGE AND CAREER EVENT COMING UP THURSDAY THIS WEEK! DON’T FORGET TO CHECK OUT THE EVENT AND VISIT WITH OVER 35 COLLEGES AND BUSINESS SCHOOLS! VOLUNTEERS NEEDED! STUDENTS AND STAFF MEMBERS – WE ARE LOOKING FOR ENERGETIC THUNDERBIRDS TO ASSIST DURING THIS EVENT. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED, PLEASE SEE MS. TYNAN OR MS. WELMERS IN THE COUNSELING OFFICE. HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU AND SEE YOU THERE! Transportation will be provided from Salina Intermediate for students/parents. The bus will leave Salina at 5:30pm.
The Lebanese American Heritage Club has established a FREE after school tutoring and mentoring program. This free program is open to Junior and Senior High School Students and is scheduled to begin on December 2nd. They only have 15 seats reserved. Deadline to apply is November 20th. Anyone interested in purchasing an Edsel Ford American Sign Language t-shirt or hoodie please see Ms. Girolomo in room C-2 for an order form. T-shirts are $13 and hoodies are $22. Order forms and money are due to Ms. Girolomo by Monday, November 25th.
It’s not too late to join the Wrestling team. Conditioning and workouts start today after school in the wrestling room. We welcome all boys between the weights 90 lbs. and 290 lbs. so come join the fun and our quest to win a league championship.
Attention Fall Sport Athletes: Please return your banquet form to the main office THIS Friday, November 15th. Volleyball, field hockey, girls golf, girls swim and boys tennis will have their banquet on November 21st. Boys & girls cross country, football, cheerleading and boys soccer will have their banquet on November 25th. If you didn’t receive a banquet form from your coach, see Mr. Picano or Mrs. Keveney for the form.
Want to give back to your community? German NHS and LINK Crew are collecting cans for GLEANERS food bank from Nov. 4th thru Nov. 22nd. Just look for the big boxes around the school that say Gleaners and drop off your cans or other non-perishables. Be a part of the solution and help feed a local hungry family this holiday season. Thank you!
The Class of 2016 will be selling tickets for their Mongolian BBQ fundraiser on December 4th. Adult tickets are $20, kids tickets are $10 and the unlimited ticket is $22.
