Wake up and stop falling prey to the conditioning of the media and society around you.  It’s only those people who are awake that live in a state of constant amazement.

 

There will be an Islamic Club meeting this Friday after school in room A-1. This meeting is for members only.

 

Congratulations to Mohamed Munaser and Abdallah Mussad for winning 1st place in the drive safer video competition for their movie:  Tears for a Friend.

 

Congratulations also go out to Adam Naser for honorable mention for his video submission as well. 

 

The winner will receive $100 and honorable mention will receive $50.  There will be an assembly in two weeks for juniors and seniors to view both videos.  Thanks, LINK Crew 

 

There will be a meeting for the class reps of 2015 with Ms. Biroscak in room B-5 immediately after school on Thursday Jan 31st.

 

After school tutoring will begin on Tuesday, Feb. 5th.  It will be held every week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays.  Tutoring will be held in the MEDIA CENTER this semester, NOT upstairs in A205.  You need to bring materials and be there no later than 2:25.  Thank you!

 

There will be a short football meeting in the cafeteria TODAY AFTER SCHOOL. Unless practicing, all players for next you will be expected to attend. 

 

STUDENTS:  If you are missing anything, please check the lost and found.  Anything left in the lost and found after Friday, February 1, 2013 will be donated to a charitable organization. 

 

Girls Tennis meeting will be on Tuesday February 5th @ 230 in the cafeteria. This meeting will be mandatory.  All new players that are interested in playing need to attend. The meeting should not last for more than a half hour.  

 

The girl’s basketball program will host the 5th annual coaches vs. cancer game on Tuesday February 5th vs. Garden City.  The players from the Freshman, Junior Varsity, and Varsity teams will be collecting donations for the American Cancer Society all this week.  Come watch your lady t-birds play on Tuesday while supporting a great cause. 

 

This is the last week to purchase your raffle ticket for the 16GB IPad with retina display.  Mrs. Keveney is selling tickets in the main office for $5 a ticket or get 5 tickets for $20.  The winning raffle ticket will be drawn during half time at the varsity basketball game this Friday.  Good luck to everyone who purchased a ticket and thank you for supporting the Edsel Ford Athletic Booster Club. 

 

Registration for 2nd semester ASAP/ Night School Program has begun. Please make sure to pick up a registration form from the main office, counseling office, or Mr. Naimi (Rm. G-103). Registration forms with the payment are due by Monday, February 4th and classed will begin Tuesday, February 5th 

 

Applications for the PTSA scholarship are available in the main office and must be returned by Monday, March 11th to be considered for the $500 scholarship. 

 

Enjoy a great tasting shake at Potbellies and donate to the Class of 2013 at the same time.  Just order the “Sweet, sweet black & white” shake and .50 cents will be donated to the 2013 prom.
