Edsel Ford High School

Daily News for December 16th

Good morning, Edsel Ford.  Today is Tuesday, December 16th, and this is the EF Report.

Just a reminder that all freshman class officer candidates are to have applications turned in to Mr. Tyler in C-3 or Mrs. McAuliff, and should be campaigning. These candidates need to report to C-3 after school today to have their speeches videotaped.

There will be a short class officer meeting on Wednesday after school in C-3.

Any football player who wants to go to the Motor City Bowl on Dec. 26th, please see Coach Tyler for details. You will need to provide your own ride to Ford Field, but the tickets are free.

Students!! Please check the Lost and Found in the student office for anything you may have misplaced. Any clothing left in the lost and found at the end of the day by Thursday, December 18th, will be donated to charity on the 19th.

Islamic Club will be having a meeting tomorrow from 2:30 to 3:30 in room A-1. There will be a guest speaker. Everyone is welcome.

A Tin Can Raffle sponsored by the EFHS Crescendo Club to support the Performing Arts Department will be held Friday, Dec. 19.  Tickets will be sold during lunches this week near the gym entrance/cafeteria line areas.  The winners will be chosen live on the EF Report on Dec. Friday.  Tickets are just $1 each.  Bid on the prizes you want!

Any student interested in playing chess after school please see Mr. Scott in room D1.

There will be an informational meeting after school tomorrow  regarding a new Dance Club that will be starting at Edsel Ford. Anyone interested in participating should attend this meeting, which will be held in the conference room across from the counseling office. Hope to see you there!

Edsel, Dearborn, and Fordson continue to compete in the Food Fight to see who can bring in the most canned goods by tomorrow. Drop off the canned goods in the counseling office, the front office, or in Mrs. McAuliff’s office in the 9th grade academy. If you want to donate money instead, 50 cents will equal one can of food. The real winners will be the people who are in need of food for the holidays. Come on Edsel… show how much you can give to others.

Class officers will be collecting spare change in the cafeteria for the next two weeks.  All proceeds will help provide holiday meals for Edsel Ford families.  Please help the Student Council help members of Edsel’s community.

Yearbooks are now on sale for $70 from any yearbook staffer or in E-12. They are $75 with name stamping. Now is the time to buy your yearbook since we are NOT ordering extras for the end of the year. WE REPEAT, WE ARE NOT ORDERING EXTRA YEARBOOKS TO SELL AT THE END OF THE YEAR due to high costs. You may purchase a yearbook before the end of January if you want to have this year’s memories. All yearbooks will be presold.

Seniors, because of public demand, we are again accepting baby ads. They are $75 for a quarter page with two pictures and will be accepted until Jan. 16. Pick up forms in E-12

From now until the end of the semester, Jan 22, the Library Media Center will have a donation box for children’s new and gently used books.  Please purchase a new children’s book while you are out shopping, or gather up from your home those used children’s books that look new.  These books will be donated to a new medical clinic opening up in Highland Park for homeless women and children.  This is another opportunity to show your generosity, Edsel Ford!

Anyone interested in the girls’ soccer team is invited to attend conditioning every Tuesday and Thursday after school.  Try to make it to prepare for the season.

Today’s lunch will consist of:  chicken patties on a bun, spicy chicken patties, mashed potatoes with gravy, hamburgers, salad, spicy fries, cheese rolls, and sandwiches.

Today’s random fact is: The opposite sides of a dice cube always add up to seven.
