Counseling
Night School
Our night school program will start on Tuesday, September 27th.
Seniors: If you plan on attending Henry Ford College as a freshman, we will be going on a tour to view the campus on Friday, Sept. 30. If you are interested in attending, please come to the counseling office to sign up with Mr. Andrew Eldridge. First come, first serve. Space is limited.
Homecoming Dance
The Homecoming Dance will be held on Saturday, Oct 8, 2022
Tickets are $25 and can be purchased during both lunches!
Guest passes are available in the student office. The deadline for turning in a quest pass is Friday September 30th. No exceptions!
Clubs
Edsel Ford is starting a Black Student Union. This is a club where students can come together and develop a sense of unity among black students and allies, celebrate black culture, lifestyle, and history. The first meeting will be Tuesday September 27th at 2:55pm in E-12 with Mr Brooks and Ms. Sweetnich.
Drama Club
Auditions for the Fall Play, Death By Dessert, will be held Wednesday September 28th, and Thursday September 29th from 3-6:00 Pm in the Choir Room.
A Sign Up Sheet is posted outside of the Choir Room on the bulletin board. Stop in room F-16 and speak with Mr. Kelm if you have any questions.
T-Time Choir
Interested in singing but dont have the hours in the day to fit it into your busy schedule? Join Mr. Kelm in the Choir Room, F-16, Tues/Thursday during T-Time for a crash course in all things vocal music. No prior experience necessary, just a passion to make music. Anyone interested in joining the 22-23 Edsel Chess Club, should attend an informational meeting Tuesday, 9/27, immediately after school, in Mr. Dallas’ room B10

Halloween is just around the corner! Join us in reading a thrilling horror novel, The Final Girl Support Group by Grady Hendrix! Our next meeting will be Thursday, October 20th in Mr. Remington’s room in C-5.
National Arab American Voter Registration Day
ACCESS is excited to announce that Dr. Abdul El-Sayed will be kicking off National Arab American Voter Registration Day (NAAVRD), Saturday, October 8th this year as our guest speaker! NAAVRD is a day where MENA organizations throughout the US engage in educating and mobilizing voters, registering residents and new citizens to vote, and ensuring everyone has access to the tools they need to be able to vote.
Dr. El-Sayed will kick us off with a rallying speech at 12:45PM, and from 1:00PM-3:00PM we will be canvassing and tabling in the community registering folks to vote and sharing crucial election information. At 3:00PM, we will reconvene for a community picnic, where we will have fun activities for the whole family to participate in! We need you to volunteer with us to make this a successful, meaningful, and enjoyable event!

Access is now accepting applications to this year’s Teen Grantmaking Initiative (TGI)! TGI is the only Arab American youth-led philanthropy group in the country.
Launched in 2011, TGI trains teens to give back to their community through philanthropy and community. Help make a difference in your community and gain leadership skills today! For questions, please reach out to Mikala Cox at mcox@accessscommunity.org. Applications due by the end of September.

– The JV Field Hockey team defeated Dearborn High 1-0
– The Varsity Volleyball team won the Melvindale Tournament Championship. They defeated Dearborn High in the semi-finals and Fordson in the finals.
