Dear Edsel Parents and Guardians,

I know that many questions remain as to the start of school and how everything will come together.  I share that feeling with you given all that has changed.  In fact, it continues to change on a daily basis- so we will adjust accordingly and then communicate immediately.  Keeping in mind that the district is focused on a soft start next week, here are some updates. They are effective as of today, August 28th.

Student Schedules:

Student Schedules will be available in Student Connect and Parent Connect as of Sunday, August 30^th.  As we have asked before, please make sure that your Parent Connect has been updated in order to avoid any delay in information.

Pickup Dates and Times:

Teachers will let students know if they need to come to school to pick up textbooks, supplies or materials for a specific class. If a student is notified they should pick up a textbook (or other material) they should come on the appropriate day for their grade. See schedule below:

Who should come to School Next Week?

• Edsel Students that need to borrow a Chromebook 
• VLP Students (if homeschool is Edsel Ford) that need to borrow a Chromebook
• Edsel Students that were told by teachers to come pick up textbook (or other materials)
• Edsel students who need to return books from last year (name/ID/teacher name should be on all items returned)

Where do we go for this pick up? 

• Enter off of Pelham Road (behind school/staff parking lot/bus entrance). We will be set-up in the teacher parking lot.

Schoology and Zoom update:

On Monday, August 31st, all students should log-in and check their district email- students need to access their email each day for an assignment. The students’ first assignment will be to log on their email and complete the Back to School Questionnaire. Edsel Ford remote classes will use the learning platform called Schoology.  Students will receive access and directions for Schoology next week from each of their teachers. Once access to Schoology has been granted we will send out additional information on next steps.

Live Lessons Start Date:

September 8^th will be the first day that students are expected to join live lessons from 12-3pm. Specific information will be shared sometime next week. The schedule is as follows:

Tuesday, September 8th	Wednesday, September 9th
12:00 – 3:00 pm	12:00 – 3:00 pm
Hours: 1, 2, 3	Hours: 4, 5, 6

We will share the A day/B day calendar soon as well.  It most likely will be by month as the district will review whether we return to face to face instruction on a monthly basis,

Virtual Learning Program Update:

Since the district has chosen to start all students online, students who selected the virtual program will follow their schedules as posted in student and parent connect until further notice.  When the district decides to bring students back for face to face instruction- virtual students would then be informed of any schedule changes.
