All 9th-11th graders are expected to read two books of your own choosing.
There will be an assessment of your reading during the start of the fall session in your Language Arts class.
Honors and AP students have additional requirements, see below:

11th grade AP Language and Composition

SUMMER REQUIREMENTS :
- The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck
- Civil Disobedience by Henry David Thoreau
**Get the required 10-page handout on Rhetorical Terms; there will be quiz on some of these terms to begin the year.
**It is highly suggested to also read The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain as that will be the first novel assigned in the fall.
**Students should see Mr. Rydzik in room E-11 to check out books and get their 10-page handout.
12th grade AP Literature

SUMMER REQUIREMENTS :
- All the King’s Men byRobert Penn Warren
- Antigone (Sophocles)
- Oedipus (Sophocles)
