Daily News for May 8th

Good morning, Edsel Ford! Today is Friday May 8th, and these are your daily announcements!

 

Attention Students:  Testing Out will take place on Monday, June 15th here.  Seating will begin at 7:30 am and the test will begin promptly at 8 am.  If you are interested in testing out, or have any questions, see Mr. Baydoun in the counseling office.

 

Students running for class office can now hang their signs and begin campaigning.

 

Attention:  Any of Mrs. Welmers’s seniors who received a senior exit interview (blue sheet of paper) must return it no later than next Monday (May 11th).  Don’t forget to get it in ASAP.

 

Congratulations to Nadia Ourchane, junior, who won recognition in the Short-Short Story Division of the 2009 Detroit Free Press Writing Awards.  Way to go, Nadia!

 

Next week will be spirit week May 11 through the 15. The days are as follows:

Monday – hat day/ college apparel day

Tuesday – country western day  

Wednesday – class color day Freshmen wear yellow, Sophomores red, Juniors green, and Seniors blue

Thursday – neon day

Friday – black and white & senior dress –up day.  This is not a pride day so no special cars or limos.

 

Tryouts for the 2009-2010 cheerleading squad for both football and basketball season will be Friday, May 15 at 5:30 in the main gym.  We will have clinics on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday May 11th, 12th and 13th from 5 to 7 p.m.  You MUST have a physical to attend the clinics and tryouts. 

 

This week will be your last chance to buy prom tickets. Friday May 8th will the last day. NO EXCEPTIONS! Buy your ticket at lunch for $90 a couple or $50 for a single.

 

If you have a 6th hour class at Michael Berry, DCMST, or Dearborn High, you will pick up report cards there today. All other students who do not have a 6th hour here will pick up their report cards in the Counseling office.

 

Guest passes for prom are available in the Student Office and can be picked up before and after school or during lunch hours. They must be turned in no later than May 11th.

 

Seniors: all library materials are due by May 15th.   All fines must be paid to avoid graduation difficulties.

 

Today’s sports:

Girls varsity tennis is away at Redford Union at 4:00.

On Saturday both the boys varsity baseball and girls varsity softball are home for the city tournament, and girls and boys track are home for all area.

 

Today’s lunch will consist of:

Fish sandwich, Tomato soup and Sliced potatoes.

 

Now for today’s random fact:  Seniors have 17 days of school left.
