Edsel Ford High School

Daily News for April 7th

Good morning, Edsel Ford! Today is Tuesday, April 7th, and these are your daily announcements.

Attention All Seniors: HFCC is offering fifteen $1000 community scholarships to Edsel Ford High School. They will be awarded to the fifteen  students who have maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher,  with each student receiving $500 for the first semester and $500 for the second semester. If interested, see Mr. Baydoun in the counseling office ASAP.

Also, Mr. Baydoun will  nominate two seniors for the HFCC Board of Trustees Scholarship. To be eligible, students must have an outstanding academic record and not be receiving the Michigan Competitive Scholarship. The scholarships cover the cost of tuition and are available for four semesters or 62 credit hours.

Students: Any articles of clothing left in the lost and found in the Student Office after spring break will be donated to charity when we return to school.

Anyone interested in taking yearbook next year MUST pick up an application in E-12 (Ms. Beck’s room).  It must be completed and returned to her before this Thursday, April 9th if you want to be on the staff next year.

Graduating seniors may pick up applications for the PTSA scholarship in the Counseling Office.   Two $500 scholarships will be awarded.

Another scholarship available is the Julie A. Ibbetson Memorial Scholarship, which will be awarded to a senior girl with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and who is active in her place of worship.  A recommendation and essay are required.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

Senior NHS students who missed the April 1 meeting must stop by Mrs. Welmers’ office to pick up a form to order your NHS stole for $20.

Those interested in  Link Crew 2009/2010 need to pick up an application and return it no later than Thursday to the front office, counseling office, or Mrs. McAuliff’s mailbox.

Today’s sports are as follows:

The Winter Sports Banquet is tonight, at 6:30.

Today’s lunch will consist of:

Chicken patties, spicy chicken patties, mashed potatoes and gravy, chicken pot pies, chocolate Easter cake.

Now for today’s random fact:

A car that shifts manually gets two miles more per gallon of gas than a car with automatic shift.

Thanks for listening, Edsel Ford.   Have a great day!
