Daily News for November 20th

Good morning, Edsel Ford.  Today is Thursday, November 20th, and these are your daily announcements.

Boys cross-country:  Remember you have less than a week to sell cookies for cross-country camp.  Coach Haddad will be collecting the orders and the money next week before Thanksgiving break.

Good luck to Brittany Wilkins, our only Edsel Ford representative at the Division 2 swimming state finals this weekend. She will be swimming in the 200 and 500 freestyle tomorrow.

Congratulations to the 149 students who took the Princeton Review ACT. You have taken a significant step towards success in the future! Please plan on attending the Scores and Strategy session on Tuesday, December 2nd from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Congratulations to Katie Jesulaitis, Noman Anwar, and Ahmed Alawadi for receiving first place in the first annual entrepreneurship academy at the University of Michigan-Dearborn. All three students will be receiving scholarships for their efforts during the two-week competition.

There will be a Spanish NHS meeting Tuesday, November 25th. This is mandatory for all those attending the elementary school outing in December.

Football players need to see Coach Tyler, Coach Sitarski or Mr. Picano for 2009 calendars.

EF Book Club will be meeting in the LMC on FRIDAY, Nov. 21 (not Thursday as originally scheduled).  We’ll be discussing the book The Boy in the Striped Pajamas.  New members are always invited.

Attention all students: we are participating in a new recycling program in cooperation with Funding Factory. Please bring your old cell phones and printer cartridges to the main office to be recycled.

Poinsettia sale pick up is on November 24th after school in the auto tech room. If you haven’t ordered ye,  talk to one of the Thornley court members or contact Mrs. Lawlor or Edyta Zielinski.

Attention all volleyball players- don’t forget to turn in your uniform to Megan Filipowski as soon as possible.

The following colleges will soon be hosting visits in our building, so sign up in the counseling office if you’re interested:

Only one more day remains to enter to  win two free tickets to see the movie Twilight this Saturday? Any student who checks out a book in the Library Media Center this week will get an entry form for a drawing on Friday. The winner will be picked live on the Friday broadcast of the EF Report. If you haven’t already read Twilight, the LMC has just added new copies, and we have a short waiting list, so add your name to it!

Today’s lunch will consist of:

Chicken patties, spicy chicken patties, French fries, potato soup, hamburgers, spicy fries, pasta salad, cheese rolls, strombolis, and sandwiches.

Now for today’s random fact:

If all of your DNA were stretched out, it would reach to the moon and back 6,000 times.

Thanks for listening Edsel Ford. Have a great day!
