Edsel Ford High School

Daily News for Nov. 19th

Good morning, Edsel Ford.  Today is Wednesday, November 19h, and these are your daily announcements.

Attention all students, especially juniors: Did you know that you are able to take the ACT practice test online for free? Doing well on the ACT exam is an important part of the MME, and can mean extra money for you for college. You can access the practice tests at www.mel.org. or through the Library Media Center web page. Stop by the LMC if you have any questions.

There will be an Interact Club meeting today to plan our trip to the elementary schools next week. All members are encouraged to attend.

Football players need to see Coach Tyler, Coach Sitarski or Mr. Picano for 2009 calendars.

Attention all students: we are participating in a new recycling program in cooperation with Funding Factory. Please bring your old cell phones and printer cartridges to the main office to be recycled.

Poinsettia sale pick up is on November 24th after school in the auto tech room. If you haven’t ordered yet,  talk to one of the Thornley court members or contact Mrs. Lawlor or Edyta Zielinski.

Video Game Club will be meeting after school today in the cafeteria; we will be playing Gears or War 2.

Attention all volleyball players- don’t forget to turn in your uniform to Megan Filipowski as soon as possible.

The following colleges will soon be hosting visits in our building, so sign up in the counseling office if you’re interested:

Davenport University had to reschedule their visitation to December 11th at 12:15 p.m.

And U of M Ann Arbor on Tuesday, November 25th at 12:20 p.m. Interested students must sign up in the counseling office by the end of the day on the 24th.

JV Cheerleading tryouts will be in the cafeteria today from 4:30 until completion.

There will be an Islamic Club meeting today in room A-1 at 2:30. There will be a guest speaker. All are welcome.

Would you like to win two free tickets to see the movie Twilight this Saturday? Any student who checks out a book in the Library Media Center this week will get an entry form for a drawing on Friday. The winner will be picked live on the Friday broadcast of the EF Report. If you haven’t already read Twilight, the LMC has just added new copies, and we have a short waiting list, so add your name to it!

Today’s lunch will consist of:

Mostacholli, Salisbury steak, cream of broccoli soup, crazy bread, larger pretzels, greek salad, assorted sandwiches, hamburgers, nachos and cheese, milkshakes, and cookies.

Now for today’s random fact:

The average chocolate bar has 8 insect legs in it.

Thanks for listening Edsel Ford. Have a great day!
