Daily News for November 17th

Good morning, Edsel Ford.  Today is Monday, November 17th, and these are your daily announcements.

 

Attention: Juniors who have signed up for the Princeton Review Practice Test tomorrow, you will be released from your 6th hour 15 minutes early tomorrow for a healthy snack. Please plan on bringing your own calculator and number 2 pencils to use on the test.

 

Attention all students, especially juniors: Did you know that you are able to take the ACT practice test online for free? Doing well on the ACT exam is an important part of the MME, and can mean extra money for you for college. You can access the practice tests at www.mel.org. or through the library media center web page. Stop by the Library if you have any questions.

 

Tryouts for the boys basketball team will be today, November 17 in the main gym.  The freshmen tryout will be from 2:30 to 4. Varsity will follow from 4 to 5:45, and the JV will go from 5:45 to 7:45.  Players must have physicals in order to try out. NO EXCEPTIONS!  Please see Mr. Baydoun in the Counseling Office if you have any questions.

 

Attention all volleyball players- don’t forget to turn in your uniform to Megan Filipowski as soon as possible.

 

The following colleges will soon be hosting visits in our building, so sign up in the counseling office if you’re interested:

 

University of Michigan-Flint on Monday Nov. 24th @ 9:30. interested students must sign up by today.

 

Davenport University had to reschedule their visitation to December 11th at 12:15 p.m.

 

And U of M Ann Arbor on Tuesday, November 25th at 12:20 p.m. Interested students must sign up in the counseling office by the end of the day on the 24th.

 

JV Cheerleading tryouts will be in the cafeteria today and tomorrow from 4:30 to 5:30. Tryouts will be on Wednesday from 4:30 until completion. All are welcome.

 

There will be an Islamic Club meeting on Wednesday November 18th in room A-1 at 2:30. There will be a guest speaker. All are welcome.

 

Would you like to win two free tickets to see the movie Twilight this Saturday? Any student who checks out a book in the Library Media Center this week will get an entry form for a drawing on Friday. The winner will be picked live on the Friday broadcast of the EF Report. If you haven’t already read Twilight, the LMC has just added new copies, and we have a short waiting list, so add your name to it!

 

Today’s lunch will consist of:

Chili, potato wedges, chicken noodle soup, hamburgers, spicy fries, cheese rolls, bosco sticks, tossed salads, assorted sandwiches, cookies, and nachos with cheese.
