Welcome back to all of our families and we want to welcome our newest Thunderbirds! We are eager to start this school year strong. Last year we all adapted to coming back in person full time. Students adjusted back to a “normal” school year. This year we are really looking forward to building on our students’ growth and closing achievement gaps while extending their learning.
High academic achievement is an expectation for all Edsel students. All students here at Edsel will be provided with the highest quality of education in a safe, supportive, and learning environment. Working closely with families to make our students better prepared for the future is a commitment I make to you. Together we can bridge a partnership that empowers students to reach greater strides academically and socially. Our focus will be on making sure all of our students’ needs are met.
The high school years are critical and we fully understand that we need to cultivate an environment of high expectations, meaningful learning opportunities, and systemic approaches for our students to be successful in college and career. The Edsel staff is committed to activate critical thinking skills from day one. Our staff will provide opportunities for students to accelerate their learning.
Activating student self-worth is another goal we have for students. Students need to know that they contribute so much to this world. Through mindful discovery, confidence, and eagerness, we can help students acknowledge their own potential. We encourage all students to participate in after school activities like sporting events and after school clubs. Getting involved in school events only enriches our students’ experiences in high school. We also hope to see many of our dedicated parents attend events. Together in partnership we can make Edsel High School a model school.
Our administration is very eager to serve our Edsel Community. Mr. Abdulla, Mr. Omar, Mr. Pfeil, and myself are committed to developing a safe, nurturing, and welcoming environment for all students.
I am very passionate and committed to your child’s intellectual and social growth. Together we can face all challenges by making Edsel Ford High School a great place for students to learn, grow intellectually and socially, and aspire to be active agents of change. We look forward to a great school year with all you!

As we get closer to the year beginning; we will do our best to communicate more details. This will be done using direct email from me and/or our school website. Please make sure you have current email addresses to get regular communication. There are some changes and reminders that we wanted to highlight below.
- The Daily Schedule: students will attend class from 7:50 am – 2:45 pm; half days will end at 10:55 am.
- If you have not already, you need to log onto your ParentConnect to update all of our Back to School documents for the 2022-23 school year. If you forgot your ParentConnect information, please contact the Family Help Desk at (313) 827-8400.
- Class schedules for the 2022-23 school year are available on StudentConnect and ParentConnect starting on August 26th at noon.
- We are also providing students with schedule pick up. More information about this will be sent this week.

Our first day of school is August 29th. Students will attend a ½ day, from 7:50 am – 10:55 am and will attend hours 1-6. MBCC and DCMST students will stay at EFHS all day.
- Freshman orientation is on August 23th from 11AM-1 PM. Mr. Pfeil will send out more information.
- August 30th will be the first full day of school, 7:50 am – 2:45 pm.
- Transportation information will be sent to the home address for those who take the bus. If you do not get that information by August 25th, please call the transportation department at (313) 827-3300.
- For parents who pick-up and drop-off their students, the parking lot off of Pelham is for buses only from 7:15-8:00 am and 2:30-3:15 pm. Any parent dropping off or picking up their student should enter the main entrance off of Rotunda or drop off their student at the gymnasium entrance.
- Students wishing to park in the student parking lot must have a parking pass. Parking passes are $20 and can be purchased from the main office starting on August 22nd.

أولياء الأمور الأعزاء:
مرحبا بجميع أسرنا و بطيور الرعد الجدد في عام دراسي جديد! نحرص على بدء هذا العام الدراسي بقوة. لقد قضينا العام الماضي على التكيف مع العودة الشخصية المباشرة إلى المباني المدرسية بدوام كامل. نتطلع هذا العام حقًا إلى بناء نمو طلابنا وسد فجوات التحصيل العلمي التي عانوا منها مع توسيع نطاق تعلمهم.
نتوقع لجميع طلاب أدسل التفوق الدراسي. سيدرسُ جميع الطلاب في بيئة آمنة وداعمة وتعليمية حيث يحصلون فيها على أعلى مستوى تعليمي. و أعدكم أنه بالتعاون معكم أسر الطلاب سنقوم بإعداد الطلاب لمستقبل أفضل . معاً يمكننا التعاون لتمكين الطلاب من الوصول إلى مراتب أعلى أكاديمياً واجتماعياً. لذا علينا خلال هذا العام وأكثر من أي وقت مضى للتأكد من أننا سنبذل قصارى جهدنا لتزويد طلابنا بشعور من الحياة الطبيعية. وسيكون تركيزنا منصب على التأكد من تلبية جميع احتياجات طلابنا.
تعتبر سنوات الدراسة الثانوية حاسمة ونفهم تماماً أننا بحاجة إلى تنمية بيئة من التوقعات العالية ، وفرص التعلم الهادفة ، والنهج المنهجية لطلابنا لتحقيق النجاح في الكلية والوظيفة. يلتزم طاقم أدسل بتنشيط مهارات التفكير النقدي منذ اليوم الأول. كما سيوفر موظفينا الفرص للطلاب لتسريع عملية تعلمهم.
تنشيط القيمة الذاتية للطالب هدفاً آخر من أهدافنا .يحتاج الطلاب إلى معرفة دورهم المساهم الهام في هذا العالم. من خلال الاكتشاف الواعي والثقة بأنفسهم ، يمكننا مساعدة الطلاب على إدراك إمكاناتهم الخاصة. نشجع جميع الطلاب على المشاركة في أنشطة بعد دوام المدرسة والأحداث الرياضية. إن المشاركة في الأنشطة المدرسية تثري خبرة طلابنا في المدرسة الثانوية. نأمل أيضاً أن نرى العديد من الأهالي المخلصين يحضرون هذه الأنشطة . معاً يمكننا أن نجعل مدرسة أدسل فورد مدرسة نموذجية.

- تم تغيير أوقات الدوام اليومي وسيحضر الطلاب الحصص الدراسية من الساعة ٧:٥٠ صباحاً حتى ٢:٤٥ مساءً ؛ دوام نصف يوم ينتهي عند الساعة ١٠:٥٥ صباحاً.
- يرجى تسجيل الدخول إلى رابط الأهل لتحديث جميع مستندات العودة إلى المدرسة للعام الدراسي ٢٠٢٢ –٢٠٢٣ . إذا نسيت معلومات تسجيل الدخول إلى رابط الأهل رابط الأهل الخاصة بك ، يرجى الاتصال بمكتب مساعدة الأسرة على٨٤٠٠-٨٢٧-٣١٣ .
- تتوفر جداول الحصص للعام الدراسي ٢٠٢٢ –٢٠٢٣ على رابط الطلاب و رابط الأهل بدءاً من ٢٣ آب/ أغسطس ظهراً.
- سيتمكن الطلاب أيضاً من استلام جدولهم الدراسية من المدرسة. سيتم إرسال مزيد من المعلومات هذا الأسبوع.

اليوم الدراسي الأول لهذا العام هو ٢٩ آب/أغسطس. و هو دوام نصف يوم، من الساعة ٧:٥٠ صباحاً – الساعة ١٠:٥٥ صباحاً وسيحضرون جميع الحصص الست. سيبقى طلاب MBCC و DCMST في أدسل طوال اليوم.
- موعد اليوم التعريفي لطلاب الصف التاسع ( الجدد) في ٢٣ آب/أغسطس من ١–٣ مساءً. سيرسل السيد فايل المزيد من المعلومات.
- سيكون يوم ٣٠ آب/أغسطس هو أول يوم دراسي كامل، من الساعة ٧:٥٠ صباحاً حتى ٢:٤٥ مساءً.
- سيتم إرسال معلومات عن خطة المواصلات في باص المدرسة إلى عنوان منزلكم. إذا لم تحصل على هذه المعلومات بحلول ٢٥ آب/أغسطس، يرجى الاتصال بقسم المواصلات على الرقم ٣٣٠٠-٨٢٧-٣١٣ .
- بالنسبة للأهالي الذين يوصلون أولادهم من وإلى المدرسة فإن ساحة السيارات على شارع بيلام مخصصة للباصات فقط من ٧:١٥–٨:٠٠ صباحاً و٢:٣٠–٣:١٥ مساءً. يجب على أولياء الأمور الذين يوصلون ابنائهم الدخول من المدخل الرئيسي من شارع روتوندا أو إنزال و اصحاب الطالب عند مدخل قاعة الألعاب الرياضية.
- يجب على الطلاب الراغبين في صف سياراتهم في ساحة السيارات للطلاب الحصول على تصريح. تبلغ كلفة تصريح وقوف السيارة ٢٠ دولاراً ويمكن شْراؤها من المكتب الرئيسي بدءاً من ٢٢ آب/أغسطس.
- يجب على الطلاب خلال اليوم الدراسي، من الساعة ٧:٥٠ صباحاً حتى ٢:٤٥ مساءً إطفاء أجهزتهم الإلكترونية الشخصية (الهواتف الذكية) وتخزينها إما في حقائبهم أو خزائنهم. يمكن للطلاب استخدامها خلال وقت الغداء.
