Counseling

If you are planning on taking an AP class during the 2022-2023 school year, please join us TODAY, March 9th from 6-7 p.m. in the auditorium.  This is a mandatory meeting for first time AP students.  The flier was emailed to students and parents.  

Edsel Ford PTSA is again offering at least one $500 scholarship to a senior.  The scholarship looks at PTSA and PTA service, community service, school involvement and other factors.  While it is preferred that the student be a PTSA member, it is not required.

Clubs

Class of 2022

Prom is coming! The Edsel Ford Senior Prom will take place on Sunday, May 22 at The Henry Hotel. SENIORS may purchase tickets from class officers during A and B lunch on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting March 15. Seniors may also purchase tickets from Mrs. Hodge in room E8. It’s $50 a person or $80 for two people. You must show your student ID in order to purchase a ticket. Guest passes are in the student office. 

Coding Club will have a meeting today after school in room A204B

There will be a Key Club meeting today, 3/9 in room A207 at 3:00.

The Class of 2024 is selling t-shirts and hoodies.  Please see Ms. Gallagher in B-7 or your US History teacher for an order form.  All orders and payment are due to Ms. Gallagher by March 24th. 

The Class of 2024 is hosting a fundraiser at Brome March 18th from 11 am- 10 pm.  This is a half day.  Please show the flier and mention the EF Class of 2024 to get the donation. 

The Interact Club is looking for Blessings in a Backpack volunteers for TODAY,  from 6 – 7:30 pm. ALL students are welcome and will earn 1-1/2 Community Service hours. Check the EF Club page for more information.

Neon Night is going to be hosted on March 11. Tickets will be sold this week at lunch. Individual tickets will be $20 while couple tickets will be $35.

Band

The Edsel Ford Band and Orchestra is hosting the 4th Annual Concert and Spaghetti Dinner on Friday, March 18. The event will include a spaghetti dinner, dessert bar, silent auction with big ticket items from local businesses, and most importantly, an exceptional concert featuring the Edsel Ford Concert Band, Orchestra, and Outer Drive Percussion. Tickets are $12 for adults and $6 for students in elementary school or younger. Please see a music student or Mrs. Broekhuizen in the band room for tickets. 

Reading Month

Enter the March is Reading Month bookmark contest! Winners will receive a gift certificate for Green Brain Comics and the honor of seeing their bookmark in everyone’s books! Entry forms are in the library or you can download it from the library website.

Book Club

Come join our book club! We’re going to read This is Where it Ends by Marieke Nijkamp. Come enjoy the book and have fun discussions! The next meeting will be Wednesday, March 16th, at 3 pm in Mr. Remington’s room, C5.

Detroit Institute of Arts

The Detroit Institute of Arts is looking for Edsel Ford’s best artists. Please, submit your artwork to The Detroit Institute of Art’s Wayne County High School Art Exhibition. Yearbooks 

Yearbooks will be on sale at Lunch.  If you would like to buy a 2021 (last year’s yearbook) there still are some available for $75.  If you would like to pre-order a 2022 yearbook (this year’s yearbook), you can do so at lunch or after/before school in F-9 Mr. Pletzke’s classroom for $65.

If you buy a 2021 and 2022 at the same time during the month of February , the cost for both will be $125.  Payments can be CASH or CHECKS made out to Edsel Ford.

Athletics     

Please join us in the auditorium today at 3:30pm to celebrate Lizzie Kowalsky signing to play soccer at Schoolcraft College.

For everyone interested in competing on the boys and girls track and field teams, there will be a short informational meeting about the upcoming season in the cafeteria TODAY at 2:55.

For those interested in playing baseball, there will be a meeting after school in the cafeteria TODAY, 3/9

For those interested in playing Girls Tennis, there will be a meeting after school in the cafeteria on TOMORROW, 3/10

Students, Edsel is now offering Free Tutoring! Work in small groups to receive tutoring from our own EFHS highly qualified teachers and/or NHS members.
