Edsel Ford High School Daily Bulletin 10/27/21

Attention Students:

The media center will be closed all week for testing. 

Picture Retakes will take place on November 3rd. If you have not had your picture taken yet, teachers will inform you what time you are to report to the auditorium. 

Students who have picture packets that would like to have their picture retaken, may do so by showing their packet to the 3rd hour teacher, and then reporting to the auditorium on that day. 

There are no retakes for new IDs at this time. 

Halloween Costumes

Students are permitted to wear Halloween costumes this Friday For the low, low price of 1 dollar!! Payable to your 1st hour teacher. 

Proceeds will go to Edsel’s #onenest efforts to reach our school and online community.

 Costumes must be within the school dress code. No Halloween Masks, No complete head or face coverings (mouth & nose masks are still required) No weapons.

 Let’s keep the Edsel Halloween spirit!

Clubs

The Game Club will meet in the Media Center after school today.

The American Sign Language (ASL) Club will be having a Halloween themed meeting today, October 27th right after school in room C-6. Bring a treat to share and come learn some Halloween sign language. Everyone and anyone is welcome. No experience required. 

Robotics Club

This year Ms. Salsberry is using Remind to send updates about important class information.

Debate Club

Brief Debate meeting today after school in B-7 to discuss results from Meet #2.

Interact Club 

The Interact Club is looking for Blessing in a Backpack volunteers for today, 10/ 27 from 6 – 7:30 pm. ALL students are welcome and will earn 1-1/2 Community Service hours. Check the EF Club page for more information.

Reminder***** All NHS applications, letters of referral and documentation of community service hours are due to Mr Dallas by October 30.  Late materials will not be accepted.

Scholarship Opportunities

The University of Michigan Club of Greater Detroit is sponsoring twelve unique scholarship opportunities for incoming Freshman students attending UofM Ann Arbor in the Fall of 2022.

Yearbooks 

Yearbooks will be on sale at Lunch.  If you would like to buy a 2021 (last year’s yearbook) there still are some available for $75.  If you would like to pre-order a 2022 yearbook (this year’s yearbook), you can do so at lunch or after/before school in F-9 Mr. Pletzke’s classroom for $65.

If you buy a 2021 and 2022 at the same time during the month of October, the cost for both will be $125.  Payments can be CASH or CHECKS made out to Edsel Ford.

Seniors:  Headshots for the yearbook are DUE December 1st.  Directions and photographers are listed in the Edsel Ford High School Blog under the Yearbook tab.

Athletics

Bowling

Any male and female bowlers interested in bowling for Edsel Ford’s high school teams, there will be a meeting on November 3 in C-3 right after school. Coach Tyler will talk about practices and bowling tryout dates.

Boys Basketball

There will be a pre-season boys basketball informational meeting today, 10/27 at 3pm in the small gym. Numerous topics will be discussed with regards to the upcoming boys basketball season. All players planning to try out for the freshmen, J.V. or varsity teams will need to attend. Please see Coach Baydoun in the counseling office if you are interested. 

Girls Basketball

All girls interested in joining the basketball team, Coach Baydoun will be holding preseason conditioning from 3:10 to 4:15 pm Today, tomorrow, and Thursday this week. Please meet inside the main gym and come dressed for the weather!

Attention all men’s varsity swimmers! There will be a meeting for any interested new and returning swim team members this Friday, October 29 after school at 3 pm in Mr. Biggar’s classroom B-13.  We will go over important information and team expectations.  

Anyone who is interested in joining the Wrestling team, there will be conditioning on Wed. Oct 27th at 3:15 pm. Come ready to exercise outside. Meet outside near the training room door. Get your physical and wrestling shoes as soon as possible! 

Student Athletic Passes are available for $40 .  The pass will get you into any home athletic event.  Please see Mr Silver during lunch or after school in the Athletic Office.
