Edsel Ford High School

Lockdown Thursday September 5th

Dear Parents,

As part of our ongoing effort to keep an open line of communication with our parents, I would like to take a moment to share information regarding an event that occurred at our school on Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 1:50 p.m., Edsel Ford was placed on lock-down due to a situation involving a single student.  This action was taken as a precautionary measure. There was no threat made toward the school, students, or staff.  At no time were any students or staff members in danger. The situation was resolved a short time later and students were dismissed at their usual time.

I would like to thank the students for acting appropriately during this situation and commend our staff members for their professionalism and ability to maintain a safe school environment.  I especially would like to thank Dearborn Police and Dearborn Fire for their swift and appropriate actions to resolve this situation.

Everyday, all of us at Edsel Ford work to maintain a safe school environment for all students.  I’m proud to say that today our Edsel Ford community did an outstanding job during this situation.  By always working together and communicating, Edsel Ford will continue to be a great school and a safe place for your child.
