Edsel Ford High School

Lunch Delivery Service Statement

Hello Edsel Ford Students, Parents and Families,

The end of the school year is quickly approaching and so too are all the great events and celebrations.  I wanted to take a moment to share a few thoughts on what might becoming a new trend with students during the school year and possibly may increase during this time of year.

The Dearborn Public Schools does not allow students to order food from outside establishments and have that food delivered via a variety of new food delivery services such as “Grub-Hub” or “Door Dash”.  Students who use these services during the school day to order meals will not be allowed to complete the transaction and delivery personnel will not be allowed in the school.

Please take a moment to remind your child that this practice is not allowed and they should refrain from using these services to order food during the school day.  We ask that you consider the many logistical and safety concerns this practice would create for our school if even a few students were to take part or even more concern if a few dozen or a few hundred.  In addition, although not as common, we would also like to ask that parents do not order food for their children and have it delivered to the school.

Our school provides a variety of nutritious meals for our students or they can bring in a lunch from home.  The District is currently in the process of looking at ways to enhance the current menu options offered by bringing in additional support for our current food service department.

Thank you for helping us keep our school a safe and welcoming environment for all.

Regards,
