Summer Reading Expectations 2015

This summer we would like you to read, read, read!

The first full day back, we will ask you to give us the following information about the books you have read: title, author, the number of pages read, a short summary, and a rating you would give the book on a scale of 1-10 and why. Then, we will have you complete some sort of evaluation. This could be in the form of a Book Talk, a one-pager, a test, or a response to some questions about the book. These are generally related to characters, conflicts, plot, themes and lessons learned.

10th grade HONORS students

  • Catcher in the Rye by J.D.Salinger

11th grade AP Language and Composition

  • The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck
  • Civil Disobedience by Henry David Thoreau

Get the required 10-page handout on Rhetorical Terms; there will be quiz on some of these terms to begin the year. The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain as that will be the first novel assigned in the fall.

Students should see Mr. Rydzik in room E-11 to check out books and get their 10-page handout.

12th grade AP Literature
