In honor of autism awareness month, staff and students will be wearing blue ribbons on Thursday. It is our job to advocate, understand, and take the time to speak out while making a difference. Autism now affects 1 in 68 children and 1 in 42 boys Autism is the fastest-growing serious developmental disability in the U.S. Autism costs a family $60,000 a year on average   Boys are nearly five times more likely than girls to have autism   There is no medical detection or cure for autism

Class of 2014 seniors: Please send in a baby or toddler picture of yourself. Please PRINT your name on the back of the picture. The picture should be no larger than 4” x 6”.Pictures should be given to Mrs. Keveney in the office. These pictures will be in the showcase at Edsel in May. They will also be displayed at the senior party where the kids can win prizes for guessing the most correct. Deadline for the pictures is Friday, May 9, 2014

Seniors! Guest passes for senior prom are available in the student office and MUST be returned, completed to the student office NO LATER than Friday, May 2, 2014.  The cost of the guest pass is $5.00

Any football athlete interested in attending a college football expo where 25 college coaches and college officials will meet with athletes and parents concerning recruiting, eligibility, financial aid and a short combine, please see Coach Tyler in C-3 by Wednesday April 16. 

The American Red Cross is here TODAY, Tuesday, April 15th.  If you are 16 years old and want to donate, you need the consent form that is available in the main office.  If you have questions please contact Ben Timpf, Colin Keveney or Mr. Tyler.  Donate blood and save lives.

Spread the word to end the word!  Words describing people should be thought out carefully!   The “R” Word is very derogatory and should not be used to describe people with intellectual disabilities – You can help stop the word from being used!  Please go down and sign the pledge on the bulletin board around the corner from F7- Pledge you’ll not use the “R” Word – Help others feel good about themselves!  They deserve it!  You can also go to www.r-word.org to learn more!

Applications for LINK crew for 2014-15 ARE AVAILABLE IN THE MAIN OFFICE.  You can also pick up the applications outside of Mrs. Haddad’s office, or the counselors office.  Applications are due by Thursday, April 17th to Mrs. Haddad.  Current LINK leaders need to reapply.  Thank you!

Freshmen interested in running for class offices of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and two class Reps can pick up applications Ms. Haddad or Mr. Beydoun in the freshmen hallway. You must have them returned by April 17 fully signed. 

There will be a class of 2015 meeting on Tuesday, April 15 at 6:45 am in A203. Come prepared to talk about fundraising.

Saturday, May 3rd at 10am there will be a South Dearborn Clean-up Day to promote community pride. Students who volunteer will earn community service hours. To sign up for this event, please see Ms. Tynan in the counseling office or Amal Ali. The deadline to sign up is April 11th.
