Good morning, Edsel Ford! Today is Thursday, April 23rd, and these are your daily announcements.

 

Spanish Honor Society will have a mandatory meeting today in E7.   Everyone must attend, and the meeting will last at least 30 minutes.

 

There will be an informational meeting today for anyone interested in participating in the high school math competition at DCMST May 28th. This is a group competition between Edsel, Fordson, and Dearborn. All grades and math levels are welcome!

 

Attention All Seniors: HFCC is offering fifteen $1000 community scholarships to Edsel Ford High School. Also, Mr. Baydoun will nominate two seniors for the HFCC Board of Trustees Scholarship. If interested, see Mr. Baydoun for more information.

 

Thornley Court will be having a bake sale today.  It will be located by the band hall and the cafeteria.  We hope to see you there after school.

 

Prom tickets will be on sale from now until May 8th in the cafeteria: $90 for couples and $50 for singles.

 

On Thursday, May 14, the Yemen American Public Affairs Council (YAPAC) will be hosting its 5th annual Educational Fair at the University of Michigan – Dearborn from 10:30 to 2:30. If you are interested in attending this event, please sign up in the Counseling Office or in Mr. William Ali’s office by Friday, May 1st.

 

Today’s sports are as follows:

Boys’ varsity golf is away at Truman at 3.

Girls’ JV tennis is away at Fordson, and Varsity tennis is home. Both matches begin at 4.

Boys’ JV baseball is away at Thurston, and Varsity baseball is home. Both games begin at 4.

Girls’ JV softball is away at Thurston, and Varsity softball is home. Once again, both games begin at 4.

 

Today’s lunch will consist of: pizza boats, pepperoni pizza, veggie pizza, and cream of broccoli soup and our usual menu items.

 

Now for today’s random fact: Half of all Americans live within 50 miles of their birthplace.
