Daily News for March 24th

Good morning, Edsel Ford! Today is Tuesday, March 24th, and these are your daily announcements.

 

For those of you that signed up for the blood drive, it is tomorrow, March 25th. Please be sure to drink plenty of water and eat a good breakfast before you give blood. Thank you, and remember you’re helping save lives.

 

Congratulations to everyone who participated in “German Day” at the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor last Friday.  A special congratulations to our first-place winning skit team:  Mallory Hartman, Jack Kiraly, Kyle Novelli, Sam Clemmensen, and Zach Krawsick.  Sehr gut, everyone!

 

Congratulations to Jessee McIntyre and Michelle Gaedke for representing Edsel Ford as candidates for the top male and female athlete for the 2008-2009 school year at the Dearborn Recreation Awards Banquet.  Also, congratulations to Michelle for winning the Van Patrick Award!

 

Applications for next year’s Link Crew 2009/2010 are available in the front office, counseling office or from Mrs. McAuliff.  They are due back no later than April 9th.  You may turn them in to the same location or put them in Mrs. McAuliff’s mail box.  All current Link Leaders MUST RE-APPLY!

 

Congratulations to the Edsel Ford band and orchestra for doing so well at the competition last Saturday at Chelsea High School.  We had these great results:  Chamber String Ensemble – 2 excellent ratings

Symphony Orchestra – 1 excellent and 1 superior rating

Symphonic Band – 2 excellent ratings

 

The Performing Arts Department is proud to announce the following upcoming events:

April 28 – May 1 Spring Play

May 5 – Benefit Concert

May 13 – Spring Instrumental “Dress Up” Concert – Irish/Celtic theme concert

May 20 – Springsong Concert

May 27 – Just Jazz Concert

AND all of the Senior Honors Night and Graduation performances, of course!

Parent-teacher conferences will be held in the cafeteria from 4:00 to 7:15 today, March 24.  Students may accompany their parents.

 

There will be a Teens for Christ meeting tomorrow in Room A2.

 

Senior Party tickets will be on sale for $55 during lunch every Wednesday and Friday through March. Get your tickets early!

 

Today’s lunch will consist of: chicken patties, spicy chicken patties, chicken pot pies, and jello.

 

Now for today’s sports: 

Boys’ track is home at 3:30. Also, today’s weather forecast predicts 57 degrees, so it would be nice to see students and staff support our athletics!

 

Now for today’s random fact: The first president that would shake hands instead of bowing when meeting new people was Thomas Jefferson.
