Edsel Ford High School

Daily News for March 4th

Good morning, Edsel Ford! Today is Wednesday, March 4th, and these are your daily announcements.

Seniors:  You are expected to attend school next week every day except Tuesday.  Monday and Friday are full days.  Wednesday and Thursday you are to arrive at 11:05, for hours 1-3 on Wednesday and hours 4-6 on Thursday.  You have received letters explaining this schedule.  Your only full day off is Tuesday.

There will be an Islamic Club meeting NEXT Wednesday, March 11, after school with a special guest speaker. Everyone is welcome!  (this is the correct information – the morning report read about a meeting today was incorrect).

Senior party tickets will be on sale during lunch every Wednesday and Friday through March. Get your tickets early!

Attention all Varsity Volleyball players: We will be honoring the 2008-2009 Mega White Championship Varsity Volleyball team at halftime of the boy’s basketball game tomorrow.

All boys’ and girls’ track athletes: you must have a sports physical to be able to practice. If you played a fall sport and have a physical on file, do not worry. If you do not have a sports physical form on file with Mr. Picano, see one of your coaches to get one. If it is not done before March 9th, you will not be able to practice: NO exceptions!

Want to get in shape for the upcoming track season!? Well then meet everyday at 2:35 by the weight room! Come ready to workout! The season starts next Monday!

Time is running out to donate to the Big Shoe Challenge. Donate 5 dollars and be entered to win a pair of Pistons tickets. The deadline is Friday.

Girls soccer tryouts will be held on March 9th and a timed three mile run will be completed.  In order to be prepared for tryouts and the season, conditioning will be after school Monday through Thursday.

This year’s Sponge Dance will be held on Friday, March 13th from 7-10 pm. Guest Passes and ID’s will be required at the door. Guest pass applications are now available in the student office, and MUST be returned by Friday, March 6th.  If you owe a fine or have been suspended in or out of school for any reason during the second semester, you will not be allowed to attend the Sponge Dance.

Today’s lunch will consist of:

Spaghetti with meat sauce, crazy bread, cream of broccoli soup, hamburgers, cheese rolls, Greek salad, sub sandwiches, milkshakes, cookies, and new beverages.

Todays sports are:

Dearborn Unified against Monroe at the Disc at 7

And now for today’s random fact: Babies are born without knee caps. They don’t appear until the child reaches 2-6 years of age.

Thanks for listening, Edsel Ford. Have a great day!
