Daily News for Feb. 4th

Good morning, Edsel Ford! Today is Wednesday, February 4th , and this is the EF Report.

 

The Media Center will be closed today for the Leadership Conference.

 

The after-school program will now begin at 2:20 instead of 2:30. 

 

Did you know our school will be implementing a late start program on certain Wednesdays starting Feb. 11th?  Students will report to school at 8:15 instead of 7:15.  Students who are bussed to school will report to the building at the regular time.They should report to the cafeteria at that time.  Please see your teacher or counselor for a list of Wednesdays and the daily schedule for this late start program.

 

Congratulations to the two Michael Berry students who placed in the Health Occupation Students of America competition at Schoolcraft College: Eleni Shestani placed 2nd in Prepared Speaking and Dylan Reminder placed 1st in Medical Photography.

 

There will be a mandatory Spanish NHS meeting after school on Thursday, Feb. 5th

 

The Islamic Club will have a short meeting today.  We will be introducing this semester’s events.

 

Attention Interact Club members: there will be an important meeting tomorrow in Herr Sedore’s room. We will be planning upcoming events and Relay for Life. Everyone is welcome!

 

Juniors:  Would YOU like to be a member of the EF Report Crew?  Stop by the Library Media Center and pick up an application form.  Applications will be accepted throughout February. 

 

Edsel Ford will be sponsoring the annual wheelchair basketball game soon.   All proceeds will go to Wigs For Kids.   If you would like to play in the game, class officers will be signing up five boys and five girls from each class.

 

Edsel Ford now has a Knitting Club. Staff and students are welcome to bring their projects and meet in F13 every Thursday after school.

 

This year’s Sponge will be held on Friday, March 13th from 7-10 pm. Guest Passes are available and ID’s will be required at the door. Tickets will be sold throughout the month of February at both lunches by class officers. $40 per couple and $25 for singles.  If you owe a fine or have been suspended in or out of school for any reason during the second semester, you will not be allowed to attend the Sponge dance.

 

All students: you can still buy a yearbook for $70. There are less than fifty to purchase so don’t wait! Get yours today! Also, baby and buddy ads are still available until space has been filled.

 

Now for today’s sports:

Boys’ freshman basketball is away at Allen Park at 3:30,

Boys’ Wrestling is home against Belleville and Highland Park at 5:30.

Girls Gymnastics is away against Trenton at 7:20.

And Dearborn Unified is home against Allen Park at 7:20.

 

 

 

Today’s lunch will consist of:

Chicken fajitas, Salisbury steak, Spanish rice, hamburgers, cabbage soup, cheese rolls, pretzels, fortune cookies, sandwiches, salads, and cookies.

 

Now for today’s random fact:

It would take 11 Empire State Buildings stacked one on top of the other, to measure the Gulf of Mexico at its deepest point.
