Daily News for October 29th

Good morning, Edsel Ford.  Today is Wednesday October 29, and these are your daily announcements.

 

Attention varsity field hockey players: there will be a short meeting after school today to discuss the banquet, turn in uniforms, and coaches’ money. If any JV player still needs to turn in a banquet form please do so at this meeting.

 

Friday’s playoff football game will kickoff at 7 p.m. We will have pre-sale tickets starting Wednesday and the cost of admission is $5. Tickets will be sold during lunch. There will be NO STUDENT ATHLETIC PASSES accepted for this game. Please see Mr. Picano for more information.

 

Attention students: all students will be required to follow the Student Code of Conduct in regards to clothing and apparel this Friday on Halloween. Absolutely no masks will be allowed at school.

 

Thornley Court members be prepared to stay 2 hours after the bake sale to work outside and plant bulbs. New people are welcome.

 

Wrestling conditioning will be every Tuesday and Thursday.   The coach will meet you in the cafeteria at 3:00.  See Mr. Picano if you have any questions.

 

EF Book Club members must stop by the LMC this week to vote for the next reading selection.  Please see Mrs. Aloe or Mrs. Konczak to vote.

 

There will be a mandatory Spanish NHS meeting today in room E-7. This will be the last day to turn in t-shirt money!

 

Thornley court will be having a Halloween bake sale on October 29th, 30th, and 31st right after school by the band hall and cafeteria.

 

Attention cheerleaders: There will be a mandatory meeting on Monday, November 3rd at 2:30 for all girls who made Varsity and JV basketball cheerleading.

 

There will be an Islamic Club meeting in A-1 after school today. Everyone is welcome.

 

Having trouble with math, science, language arts, or social studies? Stay for tutoring on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. See the schedule on the monitor and posted around the building for more information.

University of Michigan Ann Arbor on Thursday, October 30th @ 12:20 p.m. sign up in the counseling office today.

 

Michigan State University on Wednesday Nov. 5th @ 12:10 p.m. Sign up by Monday Nov. 3rd  

 

University of Michigan-Dearborn on Thursday Nov. 6 from 9:00am -2:30pm interested students must sign up for a 15 min time slot by Wednesday Nov. 5th

 

Central Michigan University on Friday Nov. 7th @ 9:30.  Sign up by Thursday Nov. 6th.

 

Attention all students:  You still have some time left to purchase your yearbook at the lowest cost of the year which is $60.  Please see a yearbook staff member or Ms. Beck in E-12 before the price goes up on Nov. 1.  Yearbooks will also be on sale at Parent-Teacher Conferences.

 

Attention seniors:  Baby ads are due to Ms. Beck in E12 by this Friday, October 31st.  See the yearbook staff for details.

 

Dearborn Unified Hockey second tryout will be today at 2:50. You MUST have a completed physical to try out.

 

Now for today’s sports:

Girls’ volleyball will be away against Redford Union—freshmen begins at 3:30 JV begins at 5:30, and Varsity begins at 7.

 

Today’s lunch will consist of:

Spaghetti with meat sauce, hamburgers, cream of broccoli soup, crazy bread, spicy fries, nachos and cheese, carmel apples, Greek salad, assorted sandwiches, chocolate milkshakes, and cookies.
