Daily News for October 23rd

Good morning, Edsel Ford.  Today is Thursday, October 23rd and these are your daily announcements.


There will be a very important meeting Monday, October 27th after school in the main gym for all boys interested in playing basketball this year. A number of topics will be discussed, including eligibility, physicals, conditioning, and tryout dates. Students will be asked to sign in and your names will be forwarded to the appropriate coaches. If you have any questions or are unable to attend, please see Mr. Baydoun in the counseling office.


There will be a Spanish NHS meeting today, October 23 at 2:25 in E7. If you have not paid your fee, or for your t-shirt, or signed your contract, you MUST attend!  See you there!


Attention all students: The library media center will not be open after school today.


Book Club will be meeting in the Library Media Center at 2:25 today.  We will be discussing this month’s reading selection:  Anthem.  New members are welcome, so if you are interested in joining, please come to the LMC today right after school. 


Students: due to the undergrads breakfast, there will not be breakfast this Friday, October 24th and the cafeteria will be closed.


Thornley court will be having a meeting today, the 23rd .


Attention all lifeguards: If you worked over the summer or are currently working and would like your picture on the yearbook work page please meet in the lunch room after school on Monday October 27th. Please wear some kind of lifeguard clothing. You’re welcome to bring props such a whistle. If you have any questions contact Haley Bowers.


Thornley Court will be having a Halloween bake sale on October 29th, 30th, and 31st right after school by the band hall and cafeteria.


Having trouble with math, science, language arts, or social studies? Stay for tutoring on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. See the schedule on the monitor and posted around the building for more information.


Attention 11th and 12th grade students:

The following colleges will be hosting visits soon in our building:


Albion College on Tuesday, October 28th at 1:15 pm—Sign up by Monday, October 27th.




Attention all students:  You still have some time left to purchase your yearbook at the lowest cost of the year which is $60.  Please see a yearbook staff member or Ms. Beck in E-12 before the price goes up on Nov. 1.  Yearbooks will also be on sale at Parent-Teacher Conferences.


Attention seniors:  Baby ads are due to Ms. Beck in E12 by next Friday, October 31st.  See the yearbook staff for details.


Now for today’s sports:

Freshman football will be home against South Lyon East at 4.

JV football will be home against Crestwood at 6:30

Girls’ swimming will be home against Monroe at 6.


Today’s lunch will consist of:

Chicken patties, pasta salad, hamburgers, spicy chicken patties, cheese rolls, spicy fries, sandwiches, and caramel apples
