Daily News for May 21st

Good morning Edsel Ford today is Wednesday, May 21st, and these are your daily announcements. 

Senior Party tickets will be on sale Wednesday at both lunches for $60.  Seniors, make sure you buy a ticket for this great event held right here at Edsel Ford immediately following Commencement!  Great food, great fun and a great final event  is being planned for you!  Don’t miss it!  Buy your ticket today! 

Seniors will receive their yearbooks ordered during Senior Pride Day, today,  5th and 6th hours in the cafeteria.  Please bring your receipt.  If you do not have a yearbook, and wish to purchase one, you may do so Wednesday, 5th and 6th hour in the cafeteria.  Underclassmen may pick up the yearbook they ordered the week of June 2nd during lunch in the cafeteria.  Underclassmen may purchase yearbooks before and after school in Room E-12, or during lunch in the week of June 2. 

Football players:  there will be a mandatory football meeting after school today in the cafeteria. 

Elections will be held today for students running for office. 

All boys cross country: come for a short meeting in coach Haddad’s room on Wednesday, May 28th. We will discuss the upcoming race, summer training, camp, and our visits to the middle schools. It is very important that you’re there! Anyone who was not on the team last year, but wants to come out for the team this year is welcome.  

Today, any Edsel Ford student who is at least 18 years of age, or who will be 18 years of age by this November, can register to vote during either A lunch or B lunch, or after school. There will be a table set up in the cafeteria area with volunteers to assist students who would like to register and take part in this November’s Presidential Elections. So do not miss on this opportunity, and get registered to vote! 

Do you want to get in better shape and test your fitness level?  Come join the Edsel Ford boys and girls cross country teams on Sunday, June 15th at 9:30 a.m. for our Second Annual T-Bird 5K Race.  This year, we will be running at the scenic Ford Field.  Not into running?  Come watch your classmates, teachers, and local running stars race for first prize!  Come see Mrs. Haddad or Mr. Picano for information on how to sign up. 

Attention Students: If you are interested in learning about the scholarships available through the Marines please see Mr. Kiefer in the counseling office  today. 

There will be a teens for Christ meeting on Thursday, May 22nd in Mr. Mayoros’s room A2. We will be electing officers, having nominations for

Homecoming Court

, and discussing our end of the year bonfire. Hope to see you there!

Members : Don’t forget, today after school is the end of the year party, and we will be electing officers for next school year. Please remember to bring the food items you signed up to bring.

Attention French NHS members and inductees: the Induction Ceremony will be held on Thursday,  May 22 at 6 p.m. in the library. Please be on time and dress appropriately.  

Attention all students: Spring Spirit Week is this week. The days are as follows:Thursday- Breast Cancer Awareness Day: Wear PinkFriday- Black and white day 

Breast Cancer Awareness Program Kickoff is next week! This program is in honor of Mrs. Linda Gohl who is battling cancer.  Students can purchase raffle tickets during lunches and after school starting Tuesday of next week. Tickets will be 50 cents each.  This Friday, check the bulletin board at the end of A hall to see what is available for the raffle. Our school goal is $3,500! We can do it!!! 

The spring instrumental concert originally scheduled for May 14th will be combined with the Just Jazz Concert to be held on May 28th at 7:00 pm in the EFHS auditorium. Admission is free!

High School, and JV will be home. Both games begin at 4 pm.
Girls varsity softball will also be away at
Annapolis, and JV will be home. Both games begin at 4 pm.
Girls’ soccer will be away against
Dearborn High. JV begins at 5:30 and varsity begins at 7.
 

 

 

 

Today’s lunch will consist of:  Spaghetti with meat sauce, hamburgers, Italian bread sticks, cream of broccoli soup, spicy fries, cheese rolls, tuna sandwiches, fruit salad, and chicken wrap sandwiches.
