Daily News for Oct 31st

Good morning, and happy Halloween, Edsel Ford.  Today is Friday Oct. 31st, and these are your daily announcements.

 

Today’s playoff football game will kickoff at 7 p.m. The cost of admission is $5. Tickets will be sold during lunch. There will be NO STUDENT ATHLETIC PASSES accepted for this game.  Since today’s football game is a MHSAA sponsored event, everyone must have a ticket to enter. All freshman, JV football players, JV cheerleaders, and school staff members will need to have a ticket as well. You can purchase tickets from Mr. Picano.

 

Students who have been involved in the Edsel Ford Interact Club in past years should see Herr Sedore in E-10 TODAY to take advantage of a great opportunity!

 

The Interact Club will have their first meeting of the year next Thursday, Nov. 6, after school in Herr Sedore’s room (E-10).  All are welcome!  The Interact Club is a community service organization affiliated with the Dearborn Rotary Club.

 

Attention German NHS members:  don’t forget:  we will be having our next meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 5 after school.  Important information about t-shirts and advent calendars will be available.

 

The Dearborn unified hockey team is looking for more guys to come try out for the team. If interested. Come to the Disk with your equipment after school today @ 2:50.   Come ready to play, all grades welcome.

 

Attention students: all students will be required to follow the Student Code of Conduct in regards to clothing and apparel.  Absolutely no masks are allowed at school, even on Halloween.

 

Wrestling conditioning will be every Tuesday and Thursday.  The coach will meet you in the cafeteria at 3:00.  See Mr. Picano if you have any questions.

 

Conditioning for the upcoming boys’ basketball season will begin on MONDAY, NOV. 3 @ 2:30 sharp in the weight room, ALL the 9th through 12th graders  who will be trying out are highly encouraged to attend. All students are asked to dress warmly for the one hour conditioning period. See Coach Baydoun in the counseling office if you have questions.

 

Thornley Court will be having a Halloween bake sale today right after school by the band hall and cafeteria.

Thornley Court members should be prepared to stay 2 hours after the bake sale to work outside and plant bulbs. New people are welcome.

 

Attention cheerleaders: There will be a mandatory meeting on Monday, November 3rd at 2:30 for all girls who made Varsity and JV basketball cheerleading.

 

Having trouble with math, science, language arts, or social studies? Stay for tutoring on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. See the schedule on the monitor and posted around the building for more information.

 

Attention 11th and 12th grade students:

The following colleges will soon be hosting visits in our building, so sign up in the counseling office if you’re interested:

 

Michigan State University on Wednesday Nov. 5th @ 12:10 p.m. Sign up by Monday Nov. 3rd  

 

University of Michigan-Dearborn on Thursday Nov. 6 from 9:00am -2:30pm. Interested students must sign slot by Wednesday Nov. 5th

 

Central Michigan University on Friday Nov. 7th @ 9:30.  Sign up by Thursday Nov. 6th.

 

Attention all students:  You still have some time left to purchase your yearbook at the lowest cost of the year which is $60.  Please see a yearbook staff member or Ms. Beck in E-12 before the price goes up Nov.1.

 

Attention seniors:  Baby ads are due to Ms. Beck in E12 TODAY.

Today’s sports includes the football game tonight at 7:00, of course.

Halloween was a holiday originally intended to ward off evil spirits, because it was believed on all hallows eve the spirits would run wild on the earth.
