Dearborn Superintendent Scholarship:
This inclusive scholarship program is only open to high school seniors from the Dearborn Public high schools. Students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or greater on a 4-point scale to be eligible. Also, the students must be of upstanding character and whose personal conduct is a positive influence on the student body. A 100 to 250 word essay is required as part of the applicant evaluation and award selection. Please submit your essay to Mr. Baydoun in the counseling office by Monday, May 20, 2013.
Michigan 2020 Scholarship Competition:
The Michigan 2020 Plan is a proposal in the Senate that would give each and every high school graduate the opportunity to attend college in Michigan and have it paid for in its entirety. The competition is designed to engage Michigan’s young people in the discussion on the Michigan 2020 Plan. The competition will award up to $10,000 to one Michigan high school senior. To enter, students are asked to submit a short web video that explains how the Michigan 2020 Plan would make a difference in the lives of Michigan students and why it’s important for lawmakers to enact it. The deadline is April 28, 2013.
Sussle Scholarship:
This $5,000 scholarship is for one high school senior. The mission for Sussle is that it collects the best content by topic. This is not your usual scholarship. There is no application, grade point average or essay, and it’s actually fun. By students participating, they will be posting their knowledge for the benefits of others, and in return, the best contributor will win the scholarship. To enter, students can go to http://sussle.org. The deadline is June 30th.
Dearborn Amicas Scholarship:
A $750.00 scholarship will be awarded each year to high school seniors graduating from each of the three high schools in Dearborn. The students must have documented financial need. Also, the students must demonstrate through the application process that they are self-starters and proven leaders. Applicants must submit a 250-word essay explaining their post secondary goals and how leadership in high school has contributed or prepared them for life after high school. Please stop by the counseling for an application. All applications are due to the attention of the high school principal’s office by May 1st.
Charles Lomas Memorial Scholarship Fund:
This memorial scholarship in the amount of $733.00 provides educational support to a qualifying graduate of the DearbornCitySchool District. High school seniors must be pursuing a post-secondary degree in the field of education to be eligible. Please stop by the counseling office for an application.
