    Eastern Michigan University Alumni Association Scholarships:  The scholarships program was established for children and grandchildren of EMU alumni who will be enrolled as entering freshmen at EMU for the Fall semester.  The $2,500 scholarship is renewable for four consecutive years for a maximum award of $5,000.  The award is not based on financial need.  A GPA of 3.0 or better is required.  The application deadline is Friday, March 2, 2012.

     

     

    Big Sun Scholarship:  The Big Sun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits.  The organization is offering a $500.00 scholarship to a deserving student.  All senior student-athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.  Please visit the website at http://www.bigsunathletics.com to learn how to apply.  The deadline is June 22, 2012.

     

    Student Scholarships.org:  There are numerous (10) scholarships that high school students from Dearborn area are eligible for.  Since 2003, Student Scholarships.org has been focused on providing scholarship information to students from Michigan.  The deadline for the scholarships range from January 20, 2012 to June 30, 2012.  Please stop by the counseling office for more information.

    • Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation: Developed and administered at Nova Southeastern University, the Common Knowledge Scholarship Foundation (CKSF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that creates and delivers innovative scholarship and educational programs for students of all ages through the use of internet-based quiz competitions.  http://www.cksf.org/
    • UNIVERSITYOF MICHIGAN – ANN ARBOR SCHOLARSHIPS:The University Of Michigan Club Of Greater Detroit is sponsoring unique scholarship awards to 10 outstandingfreshman applicants to the University of Michigan – Ann Arbor.  All six awards are for $3,000.  There are “no strings”, except that the first  year applicants must enroll at University of Michigan – Ann Arbor, and be qualitycitizen-students.  Stop by the Counseling Office for an application and/or visit thewebsite at wwwumclubgreaterdetroit.org.
    •   BAKER  COLLEGE  CAREER SCHOLARSHIPS:All seniors are eligible to apply for the $4,800 scholarships.  The winners will be selected by the committee on the basis of academic achievement.  All applications must be received by the Baker College Scholarship Committee no    later than   May 1, 2011

    BAKERCOLLEGEBOARD OF REGENTS SCHOLARSHIP:

    •      Baker College is providing tuition scholarships to high school graduates who have achieved a cumulative GPA of at
    •      least 3.5 and/or a composite ACT score of at least 24.  Financial need is not a criterion for this award.

    • OAKLANDUNIVERSITYACADEMIC MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS:
    •      To be considered for scholarships, entering freshmen must apply to the University by March 2, 2012.  If you meet
    •      this deadline, you will automatically be considered for Oakland University scholarships.  Awards are based on the
    •      student’s academic record, including GPA, at the time of admission.  The various scholarships range from 
    •      full tuition for students with a 3.9 GPA or greater and an ACT composite score of 31 or greater, to scholarships of
    •      $6,000 for four years for students with a GPA of at least  3.2 and an ACT composite score of 22.

    • WENDY’S HIGH SCHOOL HEISMAN AWARD:
    •      This award honors both male and female high school students who excel in academic athletics and student
    •      leadership.  Students who are in their senior year and have at least a “B” grade average and participate in at least one

    •  KOMENCOLLEGESCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:
    •      The scholarship awards $10,000 per year (for up to four years) to a student to attend a state university in pursuit of a
    •      bachelor’s degree.  These awards aid college students facing significant financial burdens due to the loss of a parent
    •       (or guardian) to breast cancer or their own breast cancer diagnosis at age 25 or younger.  Scholarship recipients are
    •       selected based on scholastic achievement, community service, financial need and demonstrated leadership potential.

    • ELKS NATIONAL FOUNDTION SCHOLARSHIPS:
    •      The foundation provides more than $3.64 million in college scholarships each year through its three scholarship
    •      programs, including the Most Valuable Student Scholarship, in which 500 four-year scholarships, ranging from
    •      $1,000 to $5,000, per year are awarded to high school seniors based on financial need, leadership, and

    • MICHIGANEDUCATION ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP:
    •      Last year, the MEA awarded 36 scholarships totaling $36,000 to 20 Michigan public high school graduates. 
    •      Criteria for selection will be based on the following:  academic achievement, school/community service and
    •      extra-curricular activities.  Applications must be postmarked no later than Friday, February 10, 2012.

    • COYNE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:
    •      To be eligible for these $6,000 scholarships, applicants myst have completed at least 30 hours of community
    •      Service, be a 2012 graduatijng high school senior, be a member of a family that has belonged to Credit Union
    •      One for a minimum of six months and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.  All documentation must be
    •      Packaged and postmarked by April 1, 2012.

    • American Legion Scholarships

           Are you looking for scholarship money to attend a college or university?  Say $500, $1,000, or even

           $20,000, or are you interested in pursuing a career in law enforcement or government?  Then the American

           Legion has numerous scholarship opportunities for you.  To learn more about each opportunity students

           are encouraged to visit their website at www.michiganlegion.org and download applications.

      AAA Safety Patrol Scholarship Program:

           Scholarships of $1,000 will again be awarded to one graduating senior.  Students must show documented

           proof of AAA Michigan Safety Patrol participation, good academic standing and a strong record of involve-

           ment in the community and/or extracurricular activities.  It will also be important for students to note what

           safety patrol experience taught them or meant to them.  All applications must be turned in to Mr. Baydoun

           in the counseling office.  The deadline for submission is April 13, 2012.

      National CO-OP Scholarship:

           There will be 150 merit co-op scholarships at a total value of $4 million.  Students must have a high school

           GPA of 3.5 or better to be eligible.  To find additional information about the program and to complete an

           application on-line, students are asked to visit the web-site at www.co-op.eduThe application deadline

           is February 15, 2012.

       

       

      KFC Colonel’s Scholars:

           The program is a newly created scholarship dedicated to assisting students with financial need who plans

           to pursue a bachelor’s degree and plan to attend a public, in-state college or university.  Students

           complete their application online at www.kfcscholars.orgThe online application will be available from

           December 1, 2011 through February 8, 2012.  Awards are up to $20,000 for tuition fees, textbooks, room

           and board.  Seniors must have at 2.75 GPA or higher to be eligible.


       

      ROSAPARKS SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION:

      The foundation is offering a $2,000, one-year, non-renewable scholarship to graduating seniors.  Winners are           

      selected on the basis of scholarship, leadership and dedication to the civil rights principles of Rosa L. Parks.

      Students must have a GPA of 2.5 or above.  The deadline is March 1, 2012.

       

      BINT JEBAIL CULTURAL CENTER SCHOLARSHIPS:

      The Center is now accepting scholarship applications for qualified high school seniors.  Senior applicants

      must have at least a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or above to be eligible.  Applications must be received no

      later than March 23, 2012.  Please stop by the counseling office for an application.

       

      EDSEL FORD PTSA SCHOLARSHIP:           

      This $500 scholarship is for Edsel Ford seniors who have a 2.0 GPA or higher, are a member of the PTSA

      and are college bound in the state of Michigan.  Please stop by the counseling office for an application.  The

      deadline for this scholarship is March 10, 2012.

       

      LEBANESE-AMERICAN HERITAGE CLUB SCHOLARSHIP:

      This $1,000 scholarship opportunity is available for students of Arab-American descent who are high school

      seniors.  Every year, the LAHC awards 60 to 70 scholarships for $1,000 each.  The entire process to apply is

      ONLINE.  Students should visit the website at www.lahc.org and submit all the required documents

      electronically.  Deadline to apply is April 6, 2012.

       

      ISLAMIC SOCIETY OF NORTH AMERICA SCHOLARSHIP:

      This new scholarship is available to graduating Muslim students.  Twenty scholarships of $1,000 each will

      be awarded September 2012, based on merit and academic achievement for students entering their first

      year of undergraduate study.  Students must have a 3.0 GPA or higher, and be entering their freshman year

      in college this fall in any major or field of study.  Of the twenty awards, ten have been designated

      for Michigan students alone.  Applications must be received by February 15, 2012.

       

      BUICK ACHIEVERS SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM:

      The Buick Achievers Scholarship Program is looking to celebrate motivated and passionate college bound

      students.  They want to recognize those who have succeeded both inside and outside of the classroom, and

      who may not be able to attend college without financial assistance.  Applicants are encouraged to apply who

      are enrolling for full-time study as a first-time freshman at a 4-year college or university.  Also, students

      need to plan to major in one of the following:  Science Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business

      Administration, Finance, Marketing, or Design.  Students are encouraged to visit the website at

      ROBERT FICANO HOPE FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP:

      Each winning student will each receive a $500 scholarship, compliments of Mr. Robert A. Ficano and the

      Foundation.  A luncheon for the scholarship recipients will be held in April, 2012.  The Hope Foundation

      Will honor the recipients for their many accomplishments and achievements.  Students must have at

      least a 3.0 GPA to be eligible.  The application deadline is March 16, 2012.
